Age Verification (Patreon)

A while back Patreon posted some information about their payment processer requiring an update to Patreon's age verification process. It wasn't entirely clear to me at the time what they meant: verify all patrons, the creators, or both.

Today's email made it more clear. Starting sometime soon, creators that make adult content will be required to verify their age and identity. There weren't many details about the process, but it seemed clear that it would include sending them a picture of some form of Government ID.

I am not entirely comfortable with that. There is a reason you don't just send pictures of your main ID over the internet. However, there shouldn't be any problems with verifying my age so I am not concerned about this new thing they are doing.

But I thought I would let you know, just in case something happens.
