I liked ColorWerks so much from the last set of tests that I picked up their new expansion, "ColorWerks Extreme":

It says that it can work on any hair model, even strand-based hair, but I couldn't figure out how to get it to work on Roxi Hair. That is why the hair model was changed after a couple of renders.

This particular set of images is just a dark grey, and then blended with a light blonde. I went through all the different blend overlays to see what they would look like, but this is just the tip of the iceberg with this thing. There are so many options, and they are all easily accessed through the Surfaces Tab on the hair. They are clearly labeled as well, though I am not entirely sure what they all do. Lol!

It is also a pretty basic shader as well. Meaning it's not a massively long list of options. There are a lot of options, but it's a short and concise list of them. It's almost like he deleted all extraneous entries so that it was just the things that would actually make a different. Like there isn't glossy, then double-lobe glossy, and then anisotropic. There are glossy options, but it is a simplified entry of just "glossy".
