I was pretty happy with how this most recent experiment with converting a V4 model to G3 went. This time I used a tool to actually use the original V4 skin right on the Genesis 3 model. I felt like that was a big point that held us back before - that the skin didn't look the same.

Still, I was using the exact skin and skin setup (materials) that I was using on V4. I wondered if a more modern skin shader, like a Genesis 3 shader, would look even better. A shader is just what Daz calls a particular material setup btw. This time we're talking about a shader or material setup specifically for skin.

So I toyed around with that. On the left is the original V4, in the middle is G3 with V4 skin, and on the right is G3 with a G3 shader. In fact, the G3 on the right has the same skin shader that is used on Honey. I really like the look of Honey's skin, so that is why I used it. Obviously I switched the texture maps from Honey's to Josephine's though. :P
