SITREP 537 is 37 pages and a full report.

What's Happening

What's the big story? Winds up to 33 meters per second (74 MPH), rain, sleet, ice, and snow have arrived across large areas of Ukraine. The weather significantly lowered the operational tempo of the number of airstrikes conducted, and there were no reported drone or missile strikes beyond the line of conflict by either combatant.

What's the second story? Commander of the Medical Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Major General Tetiana Ostashchenko, was dismissed and received a rare public rebuke by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Our analysis of unresolved problems with battlefield medicine in 2023 was timely.

Ukraine is looking at a second very long winter. I truly think the outcome depends on how they fare, and I hope they won't feel abandoned.
