If someone asked me tomorrow why should I pay $5 a month to subscribe to the Situation Report, I would, without hesitation, say that the quality of our coverage of events in the Black Sea and Crimea is worth it on its own.

After that shameless self-promotion.

The Russian Bora-Class corvette hovercraft Samum (Sumum alternate spelling) is confirmed to have suffered mission and mobility kill damage and a loss of propulsion after being struck by a Mk.5 SeaBaby uncrewed surface vessel.

A picture taken on September 15 in the early morning showed the Samum being towed back into Sevastopol.

In the last 72 hours, Ukraine has neutralized two missile carriers that combined could carry up to 12 Kalibr cruise missiles.

UPDATE: While it is common practice to tow Russian warships back into Sevastopol, the Samum is clearly down at the stern and up at the bow, indicating that the vessel has taken on water, as we were advised by our sources. This is in contrast to the Admiral Makarov, which was also towed back to the harbor but exhibited no outward signs of damage and was not brought to the repair dock on arrival.

I like being able to hook to the videos and pictures. That’s why I signed up.

How long before Ukraine premiers their Marichka submarine drone?! If that technology works it will be even more devastating as it’s designed to evade standard sonar and radar and it won’t be easily picked out by human surveillance. Maybe they’re already using it for reconnaissance. Ukraine keeps increasing the costs of this war for Russia, with no limit yet as to how high they can take them. The Kremlin should be very afraid.
