What's the big story? Ukrainian forces continue to make gains in the Klishchiivka and Orkhiv areas of operation and one more surprise location.

What's the second story? A second Russian drone likely hit Romania on September 6 - 7, while Bulgaria channels its inner Poland when considering future Russian aggression.

Summary

•  Positional fighting restarted in Kharkiv
•  More intense fighting continued east of Novojehorivka
•  Ukrainian forces are close to establishing military control of Kliishchiivka and are expanding control of the railroad grade south of Andriivka
•  Ukrainian forces have advanced into Opytne, north of the Donetsk International Airport, and are continuing their offensive
•  Initial reports of a Ukrainian offensive at Novodentske, Novomaiorske, and Shevchenko were overstated by Russian sources, with Kyiv describing the activity as “suppression” 
•  Ukrainian forces took control of almost 10 square kilometers of territory east of Novoprokopivka and are consolidating recently liberated positions west of Verbove
•  Ukrainian officials reported the city of Zaporizhzhia was hit by up to four Iskander-M missiles but did not provide any other details
•  A Ukrainian drone destroyed a Murom-P surveillance complex in Enderhodar
•  Video shows a second Russian Shahed-136 kamikaze drone struck Romania on September 6 – 7 near the village of Grindu
•  The mayor of the Ceatalchioi community in Romania, Tudor Chernega, is going to request that the government evacuate residents living in Plauru due to the constant Russian drone attacks
•  Bulgarian officials are arming their coast guard vessels with missiles and made a stern declaration that they will meet future aggression with force
•  The Security Services of Ukraine (SBU) targeted two Federal Security Services of Russia (FSB) officers for assassination in Oleshky, killing one
•  The Kremiy El microelectronics factory in Bryansk, Russia, was struck by a Ukrainian drone
•  A large warehouse adjacent to the FSB headquarters in Moscow, Russia, caught on fire
•  The Salyut Plant in Moscow, Russia, which makes microelectronics, had a fire in the ventilation system that destroyed a small storage area
•  A military commissariat office in St. Petersburg, Russia, was firebombed
•  Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy formally introduced the new Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Rustem Umerov
•  United States news agency CNN reported that an upcoming book about Elon Musk written by Walter Isaacson reveals the SpaceX leader actively interfered with Ukrainian offensive operations
•  The U.S. outlined what is included in the $600 million USAI and $300 million police package announced on September 6
•  Russian Major Generals Konstantin Ogienko and Dmitry Belyatsky were charged with bribery and arrested
•  Pro-Russian Armenian blogger Mika Badalyan and Sputnik Armenia columnist Ashot Gevorkyan were arrested by Armenian officials and accused of arms trafficking
•  The representative of Chechen Colonel General Ramzan Kadyrov in Kaliningrad, Albert Romanov, was arrested and charged with bribery involving “many judges” in the Russian enclave
•  Recently promoted Russian Colonel-General on Commander of the Central Military District Andrey Mordvichev said the quiet part out loud on Russian One, claiming that Ukraine was only the first step of a broader plan to conquer Eastern Europe
•  Russian President Vladimir Putin is skipping the G20
•  Ukrainian grain is being shipped from Croatian ports
•  Russia’s fuel and banking crisis is growing
