What's the big story? Another missile and drone attack on Kyiv with up to 40 cruise missiles and 35 Shahed-136 kamikaze UAVs.

What's the second story? PMC Wagner releases a video to prove they had full control of Bakhmut before they started their withdrawal on May 25, and the video proves they didn't have full control of Bakhmut. We break it down.

Really incredible what ukraine has done with the patriot if the anounced success rate is correct. It has actually been a bit of a disappointing disaster from day one. Going back to Kuwait, the patriot system was unable to track Sadam hussein's scud rockets and after initially claiming a 100% success rate, a congressional investigation revealed it actually shot down between 0 and 4 of the 44 scuds it tried to hit. More recently, in March 2018, the 6 patriot systems in Saudi Arabia fired 5 missiles at rockets fired at Riyadh, all of which flew errant and missed. Initially, the Saudis claimed 100% success but then amateur video showed the missiles flying wildly and some exploding mid-air shortly after take off. In 2019, the patriot system failed to stop rockets/drones fired at the Aramco oil fields in saudi arabia. Saudi Arabia was so disappointed in them that they restarted talks with Russia to purchase their S400 system although I do not believe they followed through. The patriot system in Israel has also been disappointing (officially a 50% success rate although likely even lower than that). Actually, there is evidence that the patriot has had notable success shooting down some short range ballistic missiles but there is no firm evidence it has ever successfully engaged a long range ballistic missile prior to Ukraine. As for manned aircraft, it has been confirmed it has shot down 2 but it has also shot down 2 friendly aircraft, a Tornado and a F-18. A F-16 was almost shot down but the pilot was able to fire a HARM missile and destroy the patriots radar before it was able to fire, just avoiding the dubious distriction of being the only anti aircraft system to ever shoot down more friendly aircraft than enemy aircraft. So Ukraine's success with the patriot has been a very welcome surprise for the pentagon after a very long series of disappointments. You can bet usa military are learning as much from Ukraine as Ukraine has learned from them.
