This is Report 395, which is 41 pages combat only.

What's the big story? Kyiv was targeted by at least 53 drones, and Ukraine with 54.

What's the second story? It was quiet through most of Ukraine with a lot of fog of war, while the Russia-Ukraine border region continues to be a hot zone.

Very happy that the patriot system turned out to be so good in Ukraine. There were lots of questions about the actual effectiveness of the system in Iraq and Afghanistan and that it might not be all it was hyped up to be. Ukrainians have shown the system is not only as good as we hoped but they have demonstrated it to be capable of doing things even the pentagon didn't know the patriot was capable of. Seems Ukrainians are able to squeeze every drop of capability out of whatever technology they receive, far in excess of what the donating countries think these systems are capable of. With that in mind, it will be very interesting to see what they do with the Abrams and f-16s.

I always view stories about Ukraine using a certain system in a totally different or better way as more propaganda and necessity. I expect the pentagon fully understood the patriots capabilities but wanted to keep most of it classified. Also in Ukraine the system is probably not operating at its full potential. It’s probably not networked the same way it could be under U.S. command, using intelligence from AWACS, F-35s, satellites, etc. to have greater awareness. Still the fact that it is so capable without all those things is truly a terrifying prospect.

Terrifying? For Russia. Reassuring for Ukrainian civilians, whose apartment blocks and critical water/electrical infrastructure are much safer from Russian missile terror.

Exactly, hopefully more systems can be sent as soon as possible

I might respectfully disagree about the Pentagon's faith in the patriot system. It has actually been a bit of a disappointing disaster from day one. Going back to Kuwait, the patriot system was unable to track Sadam hussein's scud rockets and after initially claiming a 100% success rate, a congressional investigation revealed it actually shot down between 0 and 4 of the 44 scuds it tried to hit. In March 2018, the 6 patriot systems in Saudi Arabia fired 5 missiles at rockets fired at Riyadh, all of which flew errant and missed. Initially, the Saudis claimed 100% success but then amateur video showed the missiles flying wildly and some exploding mid-air. In 2019, the patriot system failed to stop rockets fired at the Aramco oil fields in saudi arabia. Saudi Arabia was so disappointed in them that they began talks with Russia to purchase their S400 system. Actually, there is evidence that the patriot has shot down some short range ballistic missiles but there is no firm evidence it has ever successfully engaged a long range ballistic missile and it has even accidentally shot down allied aircraft. So Ukraine's success with the patriot has been a very welcome surprise for the pentagon after a very long series of disappointments. Not saying the Ukrainians specifically are doing something with the patriot to make it be successful but if the success rates the Ukrainians are saying are actually correct, this is by far the most successful the patriot system has ever been in its checkered history.
