Say hello to the ADM-160B MALD.

Miniature Air-Launched Decoy.

The ADM-160B was developed by DARPA and can simulate the radar signatures of multiple aircraft and of any aircraft. Want to confuse enemy air defenses that 12 B-52s and 24 F-15s are approaching? MALD. Or you want to simulate 20 Storm Shadow cruise missiles? MALD.

Because Russians have no sense of OPSEC pictures emerged of missile debris in Luhansk. What was photographed was the remains of an ADM-160B MALD. Previously only two aircraft in the world can launch them.

The B-52 and the F-16.

Guess the list needs to be updated to include either the Su-24, Su-27, or the Mig-29.

MALD being provided to Ukraine had not been previously announced but this is going to create major problems for Russian air defenses. This is literally a game changer because NATO-provided cruise missiles will have a much higher penetration rate launched with MALDs.

Last entry until tonight - back on the road.

Recently a drone with a small explosive detonated under a Russian flag on the top of a dome on the Kremlin. Malcontent News assessed this was a false flag operation hours later based on some convincing evidence. However more time has gone by and usually other news orgs come around to Malcontents perspective eventually but not this time. Have you changed your assessment? I'm not being critical - just curious what your latest assessment is.

That 450kg warhead it carries is absolutely massive. The damage would be enormous. Do you think ukraine will use storm shadows on the black sea fleet? Even hitting one of the ships would lead to the removal of the entire fleet from the black sea which would take additional pressure off ukraine.

George, I have no idea and can’t speak for MN. However, given the fact that nobody seems to care (pro Russian or pro Ukrainian) I think we can safely say that nobody wants to talk about it. If it was “real” then is issue is horrifying for Russia. How in the world did two drones evade all the security? Now the issue becomes less security and mor incompetence on the domestic front. So, like my dog who avoids looking at me after tearing up a newspaper, nobody’s talking. I’d say the inaction confirms the false flag narrative.

I don’t believe it’s designed to hit moving targets. There would be a lot more air defense at port, but the latest drone attack shows it might not be as good as Russia hopes.

Convenient timing of the MALD and the transfer of Mig-29s from NATO to Ukraine. Poland may not have been dragging feet but retrofitting the Migs for this and other yet-to-be-disclosed systems.

I was thinking of a strike when they were docked, possibly while they are taking on a new batch of cruise missiles. Even a near miss may frighten Russia enough to relocate their ships. They seem to be very protective of them. Perhaps with the tighter air defense over the port, ukraine prefers to go after targets that they are more sure to be able to successfully strike. I don't imagine they have many of the cruise missiles.

The "we're not ready and we need more time" followed by the UK announcement and the Polish Mig-29 announcement, and then 24 hours later things start blowing up is an interesting coincidence. But proving it is all connected is a bigger challenge.

I would say that most of the world moved on from it very quickly as it was - nothing. There isn't really much to support the attack was anything more that a planned provocation or partisan activity. There are too many gaps in the story to point to Ukraine (or any other external nation state)
