Prigozhin claiming Ukrainian forces took back 3 square kilometers of territory "in the  Bakhmut direction" which may confirm the reports of a Ukrainian counteroffensive on the northern flank. He did not provide specific geography

I'm sure I can speak for most when we heard the claim from Wagner that they would be leaving Bakhmut on May 10th, to be replaced by Akmat. But it seems now that the RU govt/MOD has committed to giving more shells to Wagner, that's no longer going to happen... Since we know that ammo wasn't being withheld, I suspect that Prigozhin was using that narrative in the hopes of both having an excuse to get out of the fight until their manpower issues can be resolved and to divert the blame of his troops from him and his leadership team to the RU govt/MOD (as well as other longer game ambitions). Those bluffs seem to have been called by the MOD. I wonder how long until his next idea/campaign to try and adjust the spotlight from him. I do have to give it to him, the narrative/propaganda of 'we have no ammo' has certainly been picked up and believed by most people. It makes discussion almost impossible, because they take it as fact and refuse to be open to it not being true. Edit: I've just read the flash report. I wonder if Prigozhin knows the time frames are too small to change the ammo logistics and is doing it on purpose.

What a mess. It actually would be a good thing if all the shells and ammo were sent to prigozhin. Every bullet and shell in Bakhmut is one less that could be used elsewhere to stop ukraines counter attack. It absolutely stuns me that Russia knows this counter attack is coming and they send every rocket and cruise missile they have to hit markets and apartments. WHY?! Those munitions could have been critical to Russias defense. To me that is the most telling sign that Russia knows they are in big trouble. They know they are going to lose so they just want to cause the most amount of pain and sorrow as they can. So twisted and bizarre.

I am with you, Roger. I have come to understand many individual "vectors" of this whole war, but when you zoom out and try to make them all fit in the large picture, nothing makes sense if you go by the stated objectives that Russia gives. They have done nothing but LOSE clout, standing and economic output for over a year now. The only explanation for this disconnect is that all the actions are directed at preserving or enhancing the power of the regime, regardless of the damage those actions cause for Ukraine, but also to Russia itself. The worst part is the regime is looking more and more pathological every week. I expect things to get even more bizarre any moment now. And yet, if you look at the confederation of bloggers, vloggers, analysts etc that support Russia, up until yesterday Ukraine is losing the war, Gonzalo Lira is a legitimate journalist, Prigozhin lashed out because he was 'stressed out', the Patriot did not down the Kinzhal and I could go on and on.....I have not yet see what kind of spin they give to this latest video. I can't wait...
