Neither belligerent reported any significant fighting along any point of the line of conflict in Ukraine over the last 12 hours.

A lot of artillery fire, rocket attacks, and air strikes, but no major ground combat.

This has never happened since February 24. There were a number of skirmishes, and Ukraine made a significant advance in that last little sliver of Kharkiv, but the fighting was very light, with mobik units simply surrendering.

If we were writing the Situation Report right now, it would be four words, "Nothing important happened today."

What's going on?

It's a tale of two armies. For Ukraine, they are consolidating gains, resupplying, having the rear echelons catch up with the front, rotating troops, and getting ready for the next offensive.

Russian forces? They are digging in, building defenses, deploying mobiks with low morale and poor equipment, and waiting to be attacked.

Could you have imagined this 33 weeks ago?

Smart from the Ukrainian side. I was worried they would overstrech their GLOC's and burn out the sharp end of the spear. I understand that they want to keep the battle veterans at the point but they need rest and a few hot meals under there belts. Consolidate, evaluate, resupply and then hit the Russians again. Possiblity replace worn out barrels. Especially the artillery. I realize that winter is coming but this needs to be done.

I know why this is real, but I'm reminded of one of my favorite characters from one of my favorite shows. Cmdr. Susan Ivanova : "Absolutely nothing happened in Sector 83 by 9 by 12 today. I repeat, nothing happened in Sector 83 by 9 by 12."

my friends deployed in the front tell me that Ukrainian rotations are pretty good. They try to avoid exhausting soldiers so rotations are happening. But I guess it can differ depending on the region, I just speak from single friend's experience.

Oh, man. That reference took me way back. Such underrated show.
