The first group of Ukrainian forces that surrendered in May after ending their defense of the Azovstal Metallurgical Plant in Mariupol has been released. The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that the first 90 soldiers have been released by the Donetsk People's Republic and are now back in Ukrainian-controlled territory.

There isn't additional information on their treatment, physical condition, the status of up to the 2,300 additional troops that surrendered, or when they will be reunited with their families.
