iPad mini users of the world unite. Too cold 🥶 not to wear clothes in the UK.

I'm cautiously optimistic when it comes to AI in video games. There is the possibility that AI can improve video games in almost every aspect. **Visual Development** - Artists can use it to kick-start world-making. Provide an AI prompt with something like "Create a world 30mi by 30mi. Using a mountain range, divide the area with a snowy area on one side and a forested area on the other side. Put a lake in the forested area." Now, the result will undoubtedly not be perfect, but it's a great launching point. Maybe it gave the artist a good 1 week head start. Maybe it's a month's head start. **Story Development** - Writers can use it to create the somewhat mundane dialogue you hear or see when you enter a city. Before AI, writers had to write every single "I'm on duty. Can't talk." or "These are dark times we live in..." type of lines. Sure it's important to make a city feel more alive, but I can't imagine writing it is 'fun'. Now AI can write that type of stuff. **Gameplay** - Like Scott said, AI can make enemy intelligence more dynamic and unpredictable. There's a strong fanbase that would love to have games that give them more of a challenge. **Development length** - AI can reduce how long it takes to develop all aspects of video games. This can lower the growing cost of video games as well as shorten the development time. But....Many game companies are known to be or are at least perceived to be greedy. AI can reduce an already unstable job market. Maybe I'm oversimplifying it, but these publicly traded companies' first obligation is to make their stockholders/investors money. Why wouldn't they reduce staff size if they could? Let's hope unions grow more in the game development world and can protect the workers.

I’m with you Bill. And it’s my opinion that smart companies don’t just use productivity tools like AI to reduce costs but instead to increase quality and expand what they can do. Businesses who go first to cost cutting don’t survive as long as businesses that pursue better products.
