Steve Gibson (of Security Now) did a fantastic break down of LastPass dropping the ball, the episode Entitled 1 really exposed some problems. One thing to note though, he highlighted that 2FA wasn't connected to the encryption of the vault **at all**. It was only used to authenticate to the server to download the vault, so for everyone who had their vault stolen the 2FA doesn't help at all. The Static Password is the only thing protecting you, an hope you had your hash iteration count high. Fortunately, I had mine set to 100k but since I've up it to a million, until I can take the time to move my vault to another service. But LastPass according to Steve, had a number of accounts that were secured only by, an yes, 1 "One" hash iteration, crazy.
