This time with the correct YouTube link.

Patreon seems to be having an issue with embedding a YouTube video in a post. We have contacted them and hopefully they will have it fixed soon. Sorry about the different format, but we didn't want you all to have to wait any longer.

Thanks for your understanding.

We look at the fine print of the CHIPS and Science Act of 2022. Samsung and iFixit now offer parts and tools for users to self-repair their Galaxy devices. And RISC-V is an open-sourced Instruction Set Architecture. But what does that mean in the world dominated by Arm and x86 chips and is it something to keep an eye out for?

John C. Dvorak Replaces Sarah - GDI 4329 starts 32:59

The RISC-V discussion continues. What OS did you work with back in the day?  So many OS’s. Is the computer dead? Have you edited a video on your phone?  Eyesight talk takes over. Don't look at the scalpel. Don't fear the laser. From practicality to science fiction. Did you know about Orthokeratology?

Starring Tom Merritt, John C. Dvorak, Roger Chang, Amos, Joe.

It was such a pleasant surprise hearing John on the show! For much the same reason I love A Chronology of Tech History and The Year in Tech History, it's great hearing from someone who can so quickly and clearly place events in a broader historical context. I think the show has always been good at that (and the more I think about it, I think that might be my favorite part of the show!), but having even more highly experienced journalistic talent around is always welcome.
