Affinity Photo vs Photoshop CC.

I've been using Photoshop CC for years and looking into getting out, mainly cause it's $120/year and I've been using it for 6 years. Glad to know that Scott has used Affinity and like it. I use Affinity Designer (Illistrator alternative) and like it tho I only use it exploit text into svg. Another item to consider is Lightroom; it's now in Creative Cloud but you can still buy the previous version (2015). And there's still Photoshop Elements.

My favorite DTNS Labs episode so far 👏. And I've listened to all of them 😀. I've occasionally found myself wanting more powerful photo editing than you can get from the stock apps (e.g., macOS Photos.app), but I didn't have a good feel for how this $50 upstart (Affinity Photo) compared to the old giant on the block. It was great to get an expert perspective on both products, and it was especially useful to hear which product is suited to which types of users and use cases. I really dig this type of discussion. The game consoles episode was another one that fits this pattern (<a href="https://www.patreon.com/posts/dtns-labs-games-14835118),">https://www.patreon.com/posts/dtns-labs-games-14835118),</a> and it's similarly enjoyable any time Robert Heron or Patrick Norton are on to discuss HDTV recommendations. In fact, I think this type of discussion could be really cool for all sorts of topics. For example: - "I'm interested in video editing. When should I consider Adobe Premier vs. Final Cut Pro vs. iMovie vs. something else entirely?" - "This mesh wi-fi thing is cool, but is it overkill for me? How should I go about choosing between a single router or a mesh solution? What do you recommend in each case and why?" - "Tom wants a 20TB SSD, but we haven't reached that Patreon milestone just yet. So, how can I simulate 20TB of storage in my laptop in the mean time? Dropbox? NAS? Portable drives? How do you all approach this with all the media you produce?"
