Hello friends, old and new,

THIS is the DTNS Monthly Update available to all backers. Each month I let you know what's going on at DTNS and highlight a few awesome patrons in the audience.

Trying something out this month. The picture here is from my library. I'll post a new tech-related picture each month and you can try to guess what it is. This time I'll give you a hint. Taken Jan. 25, 2008.

TOM'S NOTE

January was fantastic! I hope you all got something out of our CES coverage. Because of you we were able to have all three of us on the show floor. If we can support it, we'll plan to do it again next year!

I also feel like we're really getting into the groove on the monthly round tables and we're getting good response from y'all. Who wants a second round table a month? I'd love for us to get to the point that we could do an extended round table episode every Friday. That's why we have more milestone goals!

February is looking good. It's usually a little quiet at the start as all the tech companies recover from the holidays and CES. But by the end of the month we'll start seeing the Mobile World Congress news and get rumors about what Apple might have in store if they do their usual March announcement plus Microsoft Facebook and Google developer conference buzz will begin to build. Looking forward to keeping you on top of all of the most interesting implications.

Also we JUST launched a new DTNS Labs effort hosted by Sarah called mailbag. The idea of Labs is to try out new show ideas. This one has Sarah (and me on the first episode) going through feedback from email, YouTube, the blog and more, to give a little more time to discussing your thoughts. Let us know what you think!

-1 for round tables, but I appreciate that others like that format. I much prefer the "just the facts ma'am" format of the regular show and the headlines show. Is it a lot of work to put the round tables on their own feed separate from the main show and headlines? Putting a normal Friday round table program on a different feed means that there is an empty Friday slot, so maybe fill that with the Headlines show? - That sounds like a lot of juggling of episodes, so they're just ideas. I'm okay with downloading the round table and pressing "skip" on my player, fwiw. Love the Show!

I love the round table discussions but I originally came here for the news. I don't normally listen to the Daily Tech Headlines as I like the longer format but on round table days I listen to both the regular feed and the headlines feed. I think I prefer it as is but I see your point.

I personally like the round tables as a break from the regular shows. Dont get me wrong, i think the format of the daily show has been honed down to a solid production, but i like the flexibility of a longer, looser format. Monthly also feels like the right frequency.
