Excellent video Dom and Garret! As a fan of the books its always interesting to see peoples takes on the franchise. I do think the show missed the point a bit by taking out the fairy tale references since genre subversion is kind of a huge part of the Witcher, even the main books (Geralt isnt even the protagonist, just the point of view character, he's the Obi-wan Kenobi to Ciri's Luke, hence his book ending being that of Gandalf or Obi-wan, despite being not so wise a mentor, and more a regular dude who hates his thankless job and would rather stay in bed with his girlfriend) but I still loved the series for its Xena vibes, including keeping the LGBTQ esques themes that made it very popular with LGBTQ fans.

I had no idea that Witcher was a book series first. I thought it was based off some video game just judging from the GIF sets I see on Tumblr.

Afaik, the Witcher: Crimson Trail is a mobile game, not to be confused with the first Witcher game which is just called "The Witcher" and is not a 2D game like the mobile game is. "The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings" is the sequel to "The Witcher". Now that's out of the way, let me just say, I love to hear your thoughts on this! I have re-read the first two books when I watched the series, and I noticed two things: 1) There are a LOT more boobs than I remember, and they are described in a LOT more detail 2) The character the show changed the most seems to be Jaskier, funnily enough Thanks a lot for getting that song stuck in my head, AGAIN *shakes fist* ;)
