The fact that I love Gene Wilder's portrayal of Wonka probably means I'm a bad person. The fact I like to think he gave the children to the Oompa Loompas for their very own merely confirms it.

If you have a look at this Cracked article: <a href="http://www.cracked.com/funny-8462-willy-wonka/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">http://www.cracked.com/funny-8462-willy-wonka/</a> you will it claimed that the 1971 film was made to sell chocolate. It makes me wonder if any of the material Mel Stuart (or for that matter Roald Dahl) inserted into this version was influenced by the Quaker Oats connection? Also, how can I not love the claim that the movie made money but the chocolate bar it was meant to sell didn't? (See previous comment about being a bad person.)
