So you ARE going to cover the Fellowship of the Rings?

Lindsay Ellis' 3 Part Essay was the best comprehensive look into the Hobbit Trilogy. I feel sorry for Sir Peter Jackson and the studio pressure. They should have given him another year to prepare - and it showed! And it does still bother me why they elected to only have Sting glow blue as they didn't want multiple blades glowing like lightsabers. Their words as explained in the Director's Commentary. And as for the White Council, Galadriel and Elrond were part of the Council. It would have been amazing to have the Dunedain Ranger (can't remember his name) along with Cirdan the Shipwright (the elf who gave his ring to Gandalf) and Glorfindel would have been amazing to see, other than just who we saw in the movies.

Audible credits may not expire, but there is a limit of 6 at any one time.

Love Audible and coincidentally you were the main reason I got it. Wish I could use your code, but I've already got my free book when I signed up a while back. Also great episode definitely going to listen to this book on Audible.

Very enjoyable. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought of the Sandworms during that baffling scene. A minor but arguably important point. The Wizards were created by Iluvatar, but before the beginning of the world. They were just five of the Maiar who lived in Valinor since before the kindling of the stars who were asked to take on the role of the Wizards -- accepting a mission and limits to their abilities while on said mission. If you two every want to get back to Tolkien sometime in the future, but aren’t up for the Lord of the Rings yet, you could always do the Rankin/Bass Hobbit for a comparison.

Of all the problems the Hobbit film trilogy had, I think keeping the LOTR tone rather than trying to have the tone of the Hobbit book is not one of them. But I say this as someone saw the LOTR film trilogy then read the LOTR book trilogy then read the Hobbit, all as an adult.

I can't let this slide, you two are the absolute cutest.

Love when you and Caluna collaborate! I'm looking forward to your eventual Lord of the Rings episode, whenever you actually make them. (Also thanks for the Llama King nightmares...)

Thanks for reviewing this! After being sorely disappointed in the first two films, I gave up before watching the third one. Glad to know that I wasn't missing out on much.

I think they’re okay movies. My biggest frustration was ironically the points you touched on. Still good job and glad to see you’re done with that mess. Audible? Something to try
