Actually, I think I remember that up until book 7, the Baudelaires actually never saw through any of the non-Olaf disguises. The one exception to this was in book 3, when the Henchperson of Indeterminate Gender wasn't disguised while guarding the sailboats, so they knew it was them.

I just want to say Dom, I really admire how even though you don't like these books or episodes, you still care to notice all of the small details of the story for good or ill, honestly it's a lot more refreshing the more common review style of accentuating the negative and just leaving it at that, I think anybody can notice a negative but only good critics have a more global viewpoint of what they're discussing, so I just wanted to compliment you on that. :)
