Animation learning Progress.------------

● Discovered a new way to animate characters' eyes.

  At the moment, the most difficult part of animation, is the characters eyes. The layer of eye pupil should not extend beyond the boundaries of the eyeball, and must be hidden by an invisible mask layer. On top of that i need to add an eyelid layer so that the character can blink, and at the bottom the extra eyelid layer to highlight the eye for other emotions + eyelashes + eyebrows. And all those piles of layers should move all together when the character turns his head and change shape correctly, without losing the ability to blink or exhibit any eyes emotion at any head turning moment.

 As you can understand, it's a big pain in the ass for 2D animation. Especially if I need to redo the eyes shape for another character, In such cases, because of this mess i have to redo the eye from scratch.

 But thanks to my observation I noticed that I can make invisible mask layer using other hide mask layers. So my mask layers can hide other mask layers while my mask layer hides the mask layer which hide normal layers. This may sound dumb, but this trick helped me reduce the number of layers for the eye to 3 and 3 mask layers.

 Thanks to this, when the eyes will change shape while turning the head, or blinking, I no longer need to reshape layer animation, all unnecessary parts will be hidden behind invisible mask layers. Which reduces the necessary eye animation by 80%! Which means much easier way change the eye shapes for other characters.

 I am very proud of these discoveries. This multilayer masks trick will come in handy in other animations.


● Significantly improved my skills in the hair physics and other bouncing objects.


● Learned a new way to add multiple cameras at different zooms to the animation. Since vector characters have no limitations in  zoom. Although, extra cameras increase the rendering time by 2.

 This method also allows me to combine different animations into one. In essence, the usual montage skill.


● Started building my own database of MLP character sounds, different gasps" and squeals" and interesting phrases.

Using the original mlp episodes and resources, in which is available 5 channel audio tracks, from which i can get clean dialog sounds without the background noises 

(It would take a lot of time to listen, cut and sort all of it, But it's worth it!)
