Salvos thinking deep, here. Always nice to see that she's not just a vicious face.

ErrebanRrereban

I feel like, at this rate, Salvos is eventually going to have to pay the piper lol. Like her pride is going cost her much more than she's willing to lose and it'll be necessary for her to grow. Because otherwise the natural extension of her character is gonna make her just like Sal

Kind of cruel of her. I don't know, I thought she'd keep him alive, but I guess she told him too much. Demons afterall don't see humans as equal, so the Changeling's actions weren't really that bad from his perspective.

Super satisfying chapter! It tugs at the heartstrings to see such a strong personality get killed, but it's far from unexpected. Hero-Artifact synergy caught me off guard, but makes sense. Lot of typos in this one though; have you considered a proofreader?

Salvos has always had a facet of her personality that's somewhat detached from human emotion, it's just gotten less obvious as she's integrated herself into human society. It's easy to forget, but Salvos doesn't really care about anyone she doesn't view as a "friend" or "companion", and had to be actively reminded that the people that are dying could be friends in the future.

Fairly certain that Sal isn't a Demon of Pride. Nor pride is his issue. I suspect that Sal is the last remaining Dragon. He just didn't sacrifice himself to fight the corruption.

ErrebanRrereban

Now that you mention it, it IS an interesting coincidence that all the dragon stuff started happening after she got the title from him

ErrebanRrereban

I mostly meant though how he can be very callous and self absorbed, and generally uncaring to anything outside his own amusement. Like, testing the greaves and her theory is all well and good, but the fact that she's choosing to do it while an entire city is under attack, thousands are dying, and her friends are in danger is feels like an escalation of her flaws. I dunno. Something about this exchange just rubbed me the wrong way in a "are we the baddies" kind of way loll

Alexey Gladkich

She doesn't care for the city or its citizen. That's not due to pride specifically - that's just her character and it was like that forever. If anything her pride can bind her to people in general. A promise of princess to her followers. That she is careless - true. She is immature in general. Still, her nature as a demon of pride is not the source of these problems.

Alexey Gladkich

It'll be unsatisfactory if Gula dies just like that. I expect more from her.

ErrebanRrereban

You know what, so much of this would be resolved if she got a mother figure lmao. She's got Sal, but she needs some balance there. She's basically a toddler in human years lmao

Alexey Gladkich

Just recently, I got a suspicion that Melissa the Oracle of Light is Salvos' mother.

ErrebanRrereban

She DOES get mentioned a lot recently. Also we know she was alive recently because of the book, which hasn't really been explained lmao

RE: The dragon stuff happening when Sal showed up. When Sal first appeared Salvos stumbled into a ritual chalice artifact, splashing herself with the darkened liquid it contained. The chalice effects we're something like "Allows access to the Wisdom of the Old Gods" with the exact same capitalization as the general skill she got when she evolved.

Lon

Amazing, she will get all the essences necessary to use the Crown, without even needing the rest of Armaments asuasuhasuhsa. And damn, Daniel is getting possessed by Old Ghost huh.

Joshua Little

Thanks for the chapter.

Jericho Drakane

I wonder if Salvos already attuned herself to the sword, then. She did use it a fair bit before giving it away...

Thanks for the chapter and thanks for keeping us updated!
