So... 2016. It's hard to know where to start with 2016.

On one hand, the death in my family made this a very difficult year for me personally. I don't want to say very much about it at this point, though it kind of overshadows things. Aside from that, I had an unusually high number of personal difficulties in 2016. One of the roughest years of my life so far.

So it's sort of a bitter contrast that last year was a great year for me professionally. Patreon income continued to be stable and I turned down the last potential teaching jobs I was holding in mind as backup plans. I'm doing this professionally now and I'm very grateful to all of you for your support.

2016 also marked other milestones. Ouroboros 1.0 as my first side game, thankfully well received despite its experimental nature. Then version 2.0 dipping my toe into the waters of commercial releases. Over at Hreinn Games we finished Noxian Nights, hopefully setting a solid precedent of Patreon being able to fund games start to finish. I also networked with a whole bunch of other creators and laid a lot of groundwork for future projects.

With two full months spent on Ouroboros development, I did not finish quite as much TLS work as I had originally planned. However, I hope everyone will be as encouraged as I was, thinking back one year. At the beginning of 2016, the party was still broken into four groups. During last year they reunited, attended the Ardford Summit, conquered Yhilin, and finished a major mission in the elven forests - heck, Simon was still wearing green a year ago!

A plot as expansive as this one won't be finished overnight, but I intend to always be moving toward the conclusion, never getting mired in unnecessary additions or reworking. 2017 will include major developments in the political situation, but there will also be some revelations that make the final scope of the game clear.

But though I hope to put out many TLS updates in 2017, you're definitely going to be seeing other work from me as well. Last year my attention scattered everywhere, and I don't want to waste all the work I put in on side projects. These will remain on the back burner, but most will be completed eventually.

I kind of want to say more about these now, some are quite fun, but I think it's best to let those be pleasant surprises. I don't want to divide my attention much from the core series of TLS releases - expect concrete info on those next week. Meanwhile, I hope everyone has a good 2017!

Secular Reason

Hey Sierra. Good year, bad year... Mixed feelings are a thing. But I want to thank you for putting out such great content. I mean, I obviously like sex games, but for literal YEARS I've been waiting for a sex game that is a game first, sex second. A game that I can play for the game, not the sex, where the sex is just a bonus. TLS is that for me. I find that in my first playthroughs of each release I actually skip the wall of text that is the sex scenes unless they seem plot relevant (like at the Summit) because I'm far more interested in the game world and what I'll find out lore-wise. That's freaking amazing. TLS and Ouroboros are pretty much the best in the industry for me. The only possible competitor is Bonehead, and the development speed of that game is nowhere near as good as yours. Constant, consistent, meaningful updates only makes it better. You've taken months off here and there but frankly I've never felt like it was the same as with other creators that seem to have excuse after excuse. Creators who get paid enough to quit and make this their jobs, but then don't put in the time to make this their actual jobs. They still put in just as much time as when it was a hobby. Basically, in terms of making games you're my ideal creator. I'm glad I found TLS back when it was still TLF... and I'm glad to support you making more content. I've put in as much as $500-600 a month here at times to all the things I support, but even the 2 times I had difficult months You were the one creator I KNEW wasn't coming off my list even temporarily. As for the title change from TLF to TLS - Like Decanter, (I think it was him?) I also liked the other title more, (it was funnier in context) but I understand the reasons behind it. Frankly it gave the wrong impression. I originally assumed that this game was going to be another shit game and let it sit on my HDD for about a month before playing, finally using it out of sheer boredom and anticipating more disappointment and deletion of the game soon after. Boy was I surprised. Looking forward to seeing this thing through, being disappointed when it ends (because isn't everyone when a great story is over?) but also looking forward to seeing more of what you make.

Well, thank you kindly. ^-^ I'm very grateful so many people have enjoyed the type of game I want to create, and of course I do my best to approach my work professionally. I hope to be doing this for a long time, and I'm happy to have people like you with me!

Decanter

I'm not sure what you're trying to ask, but The Last Sovereign is VX Ace (not to be confused with VX) and Ouroboros is MV.

Kravenar Games

Ah ok i tought both were VX Ace
