July 17 Update (Patreon)

Been a long time since we had an update without fanart. That was a good run.

Previously, I'd mentioned struggling to keep up with everything I have in the air. Now I'm feeling better and keeping all the spinning plates and balls going isn't daunting. Core progress might not be at 100%, but I'm able to keep things moving forward along with handling the rest.

Rather than discuss any of the other stuff, I wanted to focus on a single TLS thing, because I actually have a question for people. It's specifically regarding Lilith, who is going to get a special quest in an update or two (ish). I guess don't read the rest of this post if you really don't want any future information.

If the player pursues rumors of Lilith into the Renthnor Wilds, they'll be able to navigate a new (weird) dungeon. If completed, Lilith will join as the last optional harem member. I originally had in mind something pretty funky for her as a combat member, but that idea is in flux.

What I want to talk about is Lilith's content. The original plan, way back when I initially conceived the cast of TLS, was for her to fulfill the "actually 1000 years old" niche. Now, years later... while there's some potential risk of legal consequences, more importantly I just think it would be kind of pointless. Nobody who would be interested by that content is going to play TLS because it appears 100 hours in and the audience I have, on average, would dislike it.

So I'm not sure what Lilith will do instead. We could go extreme shortstack, but she's a chaotic shapeshifter so honestly she could do anything. She could just turn into an adult Lilith, but the game already covers this extensively. Some will request Mestan, but that gets into its own issues with reactionary audiences. I considered going full erotic Proteus, but I don't have any ideas that really interest me.

I honestly don't know, but I'll have to decide at some point. If nobody says anything, I'll eventually decide myself, but this is the time to have an impact on my thought process if you have opinions.

This won't be happening immediately (my plans are a bit jumbled and lots of stuff is impending), but it's good to think about this stuff early. Anyway, different news next week!
