February 20 Update (Patreon)
Content
I have a whole post written, but first, some assorted business:
- I'm part of a big NSFW game bundle again. It's good value if you're interested in more than one, so click on it to give me metrics.
- Annikath is currently offering various commissions on her Twitter, and if you click over there you'll even get access to some yet-to-be-revealed TLS art!
- There were some unfortunate shenanigans, but OEA work continues. Steam has been jerking me around regarding letting the release happen, but I think I finally got approval to set a release date.
- Checking my memory on OEA: did I ask anyone else for variant sprites for the Violent Tale? I thought I did, but can't find them in my records. If I asked you, please help remind me. If anyone wants to take it on, there are two sprites that need minor edits.
This week I wrapped up writing the sex scenes for TLS 0.60.0. The recent updates have been short on this content, since a lot of the scenes have been ironic, detached, fakeouts, and so on. These aren't: there are a number of characters who are glad to be free, so they're getting introductory scenes as well as three affection scenes apiece.
Some of these are comfy, but I've also included some elements I haven't had a chance to include in the game. Beyond that, there are a couple that I am quite happy to finally get to write. There are many different ways of writing transcendent or otherworldly sex, and this is my shot at something I hope readers haven't seen before.
Perhaps it's having taken a break from sex scenes for a while, perhaps I've been looking forward to these, or perhaps I just went overboard, but this set is lengthier than average, both individually and total. I'd have to run calculations to figure out how long it's been since the game has added this much scene text in one release. The downside to this is that some of the scenes are affection-locked and won't be accessible to everyone right away.
A few patrons have asked about Simon, one even asking if all sex scenes would disappear. The answer is that Simon will have a new variable representing his recovery, and affection scenes will be locked off until it completes. Depending on past choices, this may happen sooner or later, but all endgame quests that involve close relationships with the harem members will add to it, so the idea is that every save game will be able to reach that point without too much trouble.
All parts of this update are at least well along, but the written scenes are the only element that's (basically) done. I wanted to include multiple harem quests with this update and I'm not sure about that part. But overall this update is in an interim state where it could come together relatively quickly or drag out a little longer as I keep seeing new elements that need updating.
