New update available on the blog:

https://the-last-sovereign.blogspot.com/2019/10/tls-0462-public-release.html

Expect the next weekly update to have some interesting developments. Though I'm mostly focused on TLS, some stuff I set in motion a while back should finally be finished soon.

Here's a "fun" change of pace set of chronology questions for you: 1. How many years have elapsed since the start of the game when we talk to Altina at the start of Ye Olde Fucklord Fracas? I'm asking relative to her throwaway line "But it makes me wonder just where I'll be in another five years... life can be so strange.". Since it is discussing her life since the start of the game it would seem to imply that 5 years have passed since the start of the Prologue. My estimate had been 4 years. Since Orcent's transformation just before the start of the 3rd Arclent War was ~2 years after the Prologue, and Ch4 started 1 year after the end of the 3rd Arclent War. My current guesstimate is that Ch4 lasted 1 year, but if Altina's line indicates that the Fracas happened 5 years after the Prologue, either Ch4 or the 3rd Arclent War lasted a LOT longer than I think. 2. IIRC, we never sorted out what Sarai's actual age was at the start of the game was. Lostone had an age of 38, which made her 13 at the time of Wendis' being turned into a newt. (She got better.) I picked 58 as a good enough guesstimate, but it'd be nice to get an accurate number in both her wiki bio and the Timeline. 3. I've officially decided we'll find out how old Woofy Head Lady and Mr. White are when you tell us.

1) Your timeframe is correct. Unless I really miswrote the Altina line, she's speaking in general terms, not suggesting that five years have passed up to that point. 2) Yeah, I never nailed down anything. Sure, she can be 58. 3) It'd be pretty hard to accurate guess their age based on information given so far.

Honestly, I'm getting a really ominous feeling about whether Ivala will actually end up being on our side... I mean all we know about her is that she's been manipulating Simon's fate for a troublingly long time, and we don't know is Simon's long term plans even mesh with hers. I'll just be sitting here hoping that the Doomed King's titular doom hasn't actually been planned for longer than we thought... I think this paranoia stems from the fact that Simon is a subversion of an evil overlord, and evil overlords tend to die in fantasy narratives, so I'm increasingly worried that you are gonna sucker punch us with a tragic ending.

I'd say Ivala chose him as the best of all evils, but he's not evil. So we'll go with he's her best choice in a bad situation. Especially because the chosen are so screwed up. Me, I just hope that Simon eventually puts the Mother in her place, facedown in the forest ready to receive...

Quiet Stranger

What marvelous timing, maxing out Trin moments before a divine avatar asked my Simon whether he'd come to love her. The scene rather answered itself for me, didn't it? I haven't commented before on how beautiful I find Mithyn's design, I think, but I do look forward to the close encounter she seems fated to have with Simon. The reveal was excellent. I am pleased to finally have my suspicions confirmed, after all these years. My money is on the Anak as our jailer, based on the comment on "harvesting" from the introductory dialogue between Xerces and Xestris. He also seems much more ambitious than he lets on. But if I could take a second guess, I'd wager on subtle, sly Hester; I wouldn't have thought of her if not for the harem believing that their enemy had to presently be on Arclent, and now that I do, it makes more sense the more I think about it... I am pleased with the idea that Ivala set Simon on his path and particularly by the gentle insinuations by her "daughter" or by Mithryn that the goddesses had an abusive relationship with the original Lustlord—that they might like one with a better man, with a man perhaps like him, kind and wise. It ties together the themes of the story nicely. I also think you have chosen some especially excellent soundtracks lately. The Fucklord's Tower had a tempo that was very fitting, even more so once it effectively became Tanurak's theme. And it's probably my imagination, but I was sure that I heard Ivala's motif in the Deepwilds Shrine...

Glad you liked the reveals! If you liked Mithyn, I think you'll enjoy a lot of the content in the last chapter, and of course many questions will finally be answered.

Howdy Sierra :) Love the update but I have run into what I am hoping is a bug. I'm at the part of the Erosian War where Tanurak Strikes. I carefully planned everything out to make sure my prep score was able to reach 12 so to nullify anything he does. Problem is that even though my score is 12 (thanks to Tak'Kan Tower being higher than 4) he still succesfully strikes [T - Erosia]. Now I'm only following the fantastic wiki guide so perhaps it is wrong and there is no way to avoid him striking at least one place? Any and all help would be most appreciated as I really want to get the best outcome possible (seeing as you made me care about this world and it's characters!)

Are you sure you have all FOUR of the incubus pieces of equipment as well? The armor from devil's pass in chapter 1 The Helmet from the vaults in chapter 2 The Shield recovered post war in chapter 3 The Pin recovered from the 5.mil pron ruins of chapter 4. You need them all to get the perfect score.

Secular Reason

Hey, Sierra, is it just me, or did those arches in the Wilds look similar to the one at Tyria's shrine for a reason? Was this the place in the Tower that belonged to the Dwarven Goddess? It feels odd - considering how the dwarves are about the stone so much, rather than the green... But those little bell tower things kept making me think of them for some reason.

While this is not a critical plot detail, I'm also going to no comment this one.
