“Teacher, is my sister really alright?”

Standing in an open-air area, a young blue-haired woman — clad in what looked like warrior armor with a rather short white dress, barely reaching her thighs — looked worried at a sleeping Kurumi.

They didn’t know how it happened but they suddenly found her lying down not far from their location.

The one this question was addressed to, the so-called teacher, was a blue-eyed ravishing woman with European features. What would attract the attention of one the most though wasn’t her nationality, nor her otherworldly beauty, but the clothes she was clad in.

After all, a woman entirely clad in nun clothes from head to toe was not a common sight in Kuoh town.

Looking down at the sleeping Kurumi, Griselda shook her head, dispelling her worries with a smile of assurance, “Do not worry. She is alright.”

Even though Griselda was talking calmly, she was still quite stressed, after all, be it Kurumi, Yuki, or the others, they were all people really dear to her.

For that very reason, she couldn’t help but ask again, the question that troubled her to no extent…

“Are you sure you wish to stay here?”

The situation here was quite complicated. Japan was a territory that was partially under the joint control of the devils and the church, but all in all, the true masters of this region were still the Shinto gods.

It seemed like those gods didn’t really like the fact that so many supernatural beings were infiltrating the country and she did understand why. Nobody would want other troublesome existences flocking around their territory, uninvited and without reason…

This was why all of them had been asked to go back home despite their important mission on this land.

This was, of course, an unreasonable demand. Furthermore, since the stolen Excaliburs were obviously in japan, the Shinto gods couldn’t really expel them so easily.

This was why Griselda had decided to go to Kyoto to meet and discuss with The Five Principal Clans, the representative of those so-called gods.

Of course, for Griselda, those ‘gods’ were more like powerful divine spirits and nothing else.

Hearing her question, Yuki simply nodded with a determined look,

“Well. Let’s go. We will discuss this later.”

Saying so, she bent down and took Kurumi in her arms before the three of them left the premise.

Even as they walked away, Yuki threw one more glance at Kuoh school from far away.

No one could guess from where or who the powerful aura that seemed to crush everything in its wake came.

Even those who were in the town could not pinpoint the direction nor could they even guess the nature of the one holding this power, much less be able to pinpoint the wielder’s identity.

But Yuki was different.

After all, all those years ago, she was in the first row seat to witness that power.

There was no way she could mistake it for anything else.

———

While Griselda was making plans, the reason they were even in Japan was sitting silently in a house in total darkness.

His brows furrowed as he was deep in thought.

What should he do?

Initially, by now he should have left hints of his presence and prepared the terrain to slaughter the heiresses of the Gremory and Sitri families.

But now, the situation was clearly not to his advantage. There were simply too many unstable factors suddenly— variables he had no control over and could easily disrupt his plans.

Should he retreat?

He contemplated silently before shaking his head. It was already too late to retreat and he had nowhere to flee.

By now, the peace lover Azazel should already be in the know-how of his machinations and plans. There was a high chance that hunting dogs were already on his trail.

Of course, all of this would be meaningless once Sona Sitri and Rias Gremory died. After all, no matter what, he was a cadre of the Fallen Angels.

Thinking so, he smiled and nodded to himself with a reassured vigor…

“Let’s delay the plan. I have waited for a decade. I can wait for a few weeks at least.”

It was time to contact the Sigurd organization. Since he had to wait, it was better to make his plan as perfect as possible.

———

Meanwhile, somewhere else…

“I am leaving this shithole.”

Griselda wasn’t the only one intending to leave Kuoh town. But of course, the actual reasons for this decision were completely different from the former.

“You…”

Zolgear looked incredulously at the impudent young man,

“What!? Do you think I am crazy enough to stay here!?”

Diodora suddenly screamed, as if unable to accept the look of incomprehension Zolgear was throwing at him.

“This is a tactical retreat you hear? A tactical retreat!”

He shouted even more before sweeping his hair, “This town is definitely creepy. You should have also felt it, right?”

This time, Zolgear could say nothing. The situation was indeed pretty bleak. Without a doubt, Kuoh town held danger, much more so than they initially anticipated there to be. This wasn’t the small rundown town they were led to believe.

“Anyway, I told you I am out.”

“Then…What about the Ex Holy Daughter you wanted to obtain?”

Diodora scowled at the mention of Asia. His lust fought fiercely against his reason. But in the end, rather than his reason, what won was his desire to avoid meaningless danger.

His life was the most important.

“I will have all the time in this long life of mine to conquer her. As long as I am alive.”

“Coward.”

Zolgear snorted and began to walk away.

He was also wary of the power that weighed down on everyone. But he believed that it had nothing to do with him.

All he wanted to do, was to find that damned black cat.

———

What Zolgear wouldn’t know was that said black cat was standing in front of Basara’s house with a troubled expression.

“Should I go in or not?”

That was indeed the question…

(AN: This is the end of Vol 2 of LP. Vol 3 will be a little shorter than 1 and 2 because there won’t be much, if any, conflict at all. I want to focus mainly on the fluff and relationship. Of course, this isn’t set in stone. We shall see.)
