Gunner

OSDB Hero Rank: N/A - Civilian

OSDB Threat Rating: N/A - Civilian

Gunner paced back and forth in the medical room with a book in hand. He’s spent the last few hours scouring the pages, looking for anything that could help them stop Mellicent. But he came up with nothing.

The heart monitor’s beep counted his steps. Each one weighed heavily. Another of his team wounded. His mind raced as he replayed all his previous decisions, wondering if there were better outcomes.

He stopped in front of corner mounted television as the newscasters whispered the news. There was so much destruction. With Mellicent roaming unchecked, she’d garnered a larger foothold.

When he looked down, MartyrDOM sat curled in a ball in one of the chairs. Yokai lay next to her in a recliner, reading through a stack of tomes that looked almost as old as she was. He turned to the bed when he heard Blast Wave stir.

The wounded super had been beaten nearly to a pulp. When he brought him in, his entire body was swollen. Vitality managed to heal him, but his mind still needed recovery from the exhaustion.

When Blast Wave’s eyes opened, Gunner tapped MartyrDOM. When she saw him awake, she jumped to her feet. “Deacon!”

“Hey, Katy,” he said semi-lucid. When she punched him in the shoulder, he leaned up and said, “Ow! What was that for?”

“That’s for being a dumbass trying to play hero.”

“He hit me! What was I supposed to do?”

“Maybe dodge or block or something.”

As the two stared at each other, they erupted into laughter filling the room.

Gunner walked to the other side of the bed and patted Blast Wave on the shoulder. “How are you feeling?”

“Could use some more sleep, but I’m okay. Nothing hurts. How long was I out?”

“Almost twelve hours.”

“Twelve hours!” Blast Wave yelled, wide-eyed.

“Yes. Vitality managed to heal you, but you were just mentally exhausted so you needed sleep. Everyone does.”

Blast Wave pushed himself up. “I feel like shit now. Everyone’s been going while I’ve been stuck in here.”

“They didn’t try to fist fight the strongest super,” Gunner chuckled.

“Still. I need to get back out there. So, what happened?”

Everyone looked up as a rumble above shook the foundation. When it faded, Gunner said, “Mellicent made it through the rift and her army continues to invade the city. Hailstorm, Divinity, and Yokai attempted to kill her.”

“We thought we did…,” Yokai said. “But she’s immortal.”

“You mean ageless?” Blast Wave asked.

“No. I mean, truly immortal. I used my limited control over the Gale to manipulate her minions while the others unleashed everything they had. We killed her. I watched her die. But then the Gale pulled back control, or she did, I’m not so sure. The creatures morphed into each other to create a sort of cocoon. From it, she was birthed anew.”

“We believe her body to be an avatar or a clone,” Gunner added.

“So not her real body?” Blast Wave asked.

“Exactly,” Yokai said. “But we’ve never seen one so powerful. She also used magic to duplicate herself on the battlefield. A clone creating clones? I wouldn’t think that would be possible.”

“She’s been in the Gale for centuries at this point,” Gunner said. “We have to consider there are secrets to it that maybe she knows about it that we don’t.”

“That’s a troubling thought.”

“What happened after you fought her?” Blast Wave asked.

“That was around the time that I saw an explosion off in the distance. It seemed to be Omen rescuing you. Hailstorm, Divinity, and I were already drained at that point, and I called for a retreat. Divinity pressed forward and was killed.”

“Then the Paragon Alliance is dead?”

“Justice is still alive,” Flux said.

“She might as well be dead,” Gunner huffed. “She’s nothing but skin and bones.”

“After that,” Yokai continued. “I ordered Hailstorm to grab the Charon Cube and fallback to the Lighthouse. I used what precious power I had left to teleport to you. When I found you and Omen, I brought you back here. We’ve been studying was to try and kill Mellicent since.”

“Is Omen here?” Blast Wave asked. “I’d like to thank him.”

“No,” Yokai answered quickly.

“What about the rest of the team?”

“Hailstorm is doing scouting runs into the city to help with survivors,” Gunner said. “We set up a protective perimeter around the Lighthouse, which Flux and Whisper are helping to protect. We’re using this as a safe zone.”

“What about Velocity?”

“She stayed behind near Rockford Asylum. She’s providing reconnaissance when she can. She tries to radio every few hours.”

When Blast Wave stood from the bed, MartyrDOM grabbed his hands and helped him up. “Should you be standing? Are you okay to? Should we get the doctor?”

“I’m fine,” Blast Wave said before feeling the breeze from the open backside of his patient gown. “I could use some pants, though.”

MartyrDOM’s eyes lit up. “Oh, I can help with that.” She walked over to the nearby cabinets, pulled out some casual wear, and presented them to Blast Wave. “I hope you don’t mind me going into your room and going through your stuff.”

“I don’t mind at all,” Blast Wave said with a sly smile.

Everyone exited while they waited for Blast Wave to on some clothes. The chaos of the clinic was in full swing. Dozens of injured civilians stood like sardines sandwiched into every available space inside the basement clinic. Dust and scrapes marred their pitiful faces.

All the patients ducked when an explosion went off in the distance. Their eyes darted from the missing tiles and flickering LED lights. A mother tried quieting their child’s cries.

When Blast Wave walked out, he paused. “How long has it been like this?”

“It’s been like this since we got here,” Yokai said, as if knowing his question beforehand.

Gunner waved everyone on and they weaved through the clinic.

“Have we heard anything from the SOC or any support coming to the city?” Blast Wave asked.

“The mayor declared an emergency and activated the national guard,” Gunner said. “Although there was some political arguing about it. The SOC has declared Mazuma City a Villainous Condition 2 zone.”

“What does that mean?”

“That just means they’re locking down the city and engaging the threats.”

“Have any other supers shown up?”

“From what I’ve heard, Hailstorm’s team, the Egalitarians, are on their way from NYC. The SOC is supposed to be dropping in their Super Containment Units inside the city. Although, I’m not sure how good SCUs are going to handle Gale beasts, but it’s more bodies, I guess.”

As they turned the corner, two-wide bodied men stood next to Flux. They were walking the opposite way.

“Sir!” Flux waved. “Look who I found outside.”

“Hey boss!” James shouted. “Glad we found you in this chaos. Shit’s going crazy out there. It’s like the apocalypse or somethin’ out there.”

“Yeah, we hit a few of them bat things on the way over,” Franco added.

“Do you two have something for me?” Gunner asked.

James fumbled in his pocket before pulling out a piece of paper. “Yeah. We wanted to tell you we went to Daniel’s place, and you was right. The whole place was a mess, but not after some digging. Someone had scrubbed the place down. It smelled like industrial cleaner. But Franco’s bloodhound nose found some blood that was missed.”

“Mom used to hate it because I’d always find the candy stash,” Franco chuckled.

“We got the doc to look at it. It was recent. Within a day or so.”

“When Daniel showed up at the office, he was late,” Gunner said. “Daniel was never late before then. He acted abnormal then as well. He kept pushing me to let him take the box upstairs and I remember snapping at him. That corroborates the story.”

“I’m sorry for arguing with you then,” Flux said, lowering her head.

“We’re beyond that at this point. If Abaddon killed him then, we’ll need to do a full review of everything he had visibility to and access to. Any passcodes or systems, we need to change immediately.”

“Yes, sir,” Flux said with a firm nod.

“Anything we can do?” James asked.

Gunner took a quick look around and pointed to the reception. “Go find Ms. Woodrow and do anything you can to help her and Vitality. If they need supplies, I want you both to hit our supplies stores if you can.”

“The bridge is blocked, boss. Ain’t no way we’re making it to the docks from here.”

“Yeah, the army has it blocked off under the SOCs order of VILLCON 2,” Franco said. “The whole city is on lockdown.”

“Then you’ll need to get to one of the inner city ones,” Gunner said.

“Not to be rude, boss, but the city’s a war zone.”

“You asked how you could help, and I’m telling you,” Gunner growled. “Go ask them what they need. If they need supplies, you know what to do.”

“Yeah, dumbass,” Franco shouted, slapping James in the chest. “Ain’t you listening.”

“Ooh… who you callin’ a dumbass?” James shouted, raising his hand.

As the two waddled off in their own argument, Blast Wave asked, “What about me? I want to get back out there and help out.”

“Same,” MartyrDOM said.

“Well, with Flux here, Whisper is out on his lonesome. Why don’t you too head out to the front and support him.”

“We’re on it,” Blast Wave said.

Gunner, Flux, and Yokai got on their own elevator separate from Blast Wave and MartyrDOM. Gunner hit the floor for the penthouse and tapped key to the reader. After exiting the elevator, Flux opened their front door. A heavy gust blasted them when they walked in. Glass still littered the floor. He walked over to one of the windows and looked out at the darkness.

The only illumination came in the form of gunfire and raging fires. Explosions boomed throughout the city with a constant beat. The sky twisted like restless tree roots, searching for the water that would never come. The destitution only fueled his desire to end this.

“Do either of you still have your comm?” Gunner asked.

“We both do,” Yokai said.

“Change of plans. Call everyone back. Have them meet us in the conference room downstairs. I want to regroup and put a plan of action together.”

“What about Velocity? Do you want me to go get her?”

“Yeah, that would be good. Try to keep a low profile, though, given how close she is to the rift opening.”

“I will.”

As Yokai called the others, Gunner and Flux marched into the secure room. He sat at one of the computer terminals and cycled through all the security system’s alerts. There were thousands of red and yellow exclamation marks, signifying the damage the city had sustained. He also had hundreds of missed calls and text messages from his client base. But they were the lowest of his priorities.

Gunner pushed that work to the side while he reviewed the security system. He removed all of Daniel’s system access. After the updates, he reviewed the access logs and was relieved to see there were no recent changes or logins from him. A more thorough review would be needed, but for now he’d stopped the biggest threat.

Gunner then flipped on the security feeds around the city. Over half of them had no signal or were in such poor condition they couldn’t provide any useful data other than being online.

Actually… maybe that is useful, he thought. Gunner cross-referenced the locations with bad video from the asylum and drew a map around it. He assumed this was the Mother of the Gale’s frontline, slowly spreading like a disease from a wound.

The pair’s heads turned at the roar of jets overhead. Two explosions echoed off in the distance. The military had arrived. Gunner sent the data he needed to a nearby laptop, grabbed it, and walked over to the door.

“Come on, let’s meet the others,” he said, waving.

“Wait!” Flux shouted. When Gunner halted, she stood from the couch. Her head was lowered and her eyes darted from the floor to his. She didn’t speak until she stepped into his space. “I—I know it may not be the time for this, but I need to talk to you.”

“Can it not wait until we’re down—”

“No!” Flux yelled. “This is just for you and me.”

“What’s the problem?”

“With everything that’s happened, and everyone getting injured. I feel like if I don’t come out and say this now, I’ll never get the chance. I… I love you, Sir.”

Gunner smiled and cupped Flux’s cheek. “I love you too, Flux.”

The slime nuzzled into his palm and continued. “No… I don't think you get it. I love love you. You were right. These past few weeks I have been changing. My feelings have changed. It’s been the slow realization that you mean everything to me. You’re more important to me than those millions of people out there. I’d gladly sacrifice them all just to keep you happy.”

“Flux…”

“I know, I know. Not really… Unless you asked me to.” After Gunner chuckled, she smiled and continued. “But in all seriousness, I’ve thought a lot about what you said. I want you to know my decision is unchanged. This feeling that makes my insides bubble every time I look at you isn’t just infatuation. I’ve devoted my entire life to protecting you. I’ve given every part of my being to you. Yet there is still more to give.”

Flux pressed herself to Gunner’s body and looked up at him with her beautiful purple eyes as they glistened in the light. “Let me give my ultimate self to you. Let me share my whole being.”

Gunner’s heart raced at his companion's declaration. The hellscape faded around him. It was just him and her. Just like it’d been centuries ago when she split from him.

He’d watch her grow from a whistling pup to the strong, confident woman that she was today. She was right. He was as part of her as she was a part of him. Fate had always meant for them to be together. How could he deny her his ultimate gift?

But there were others important in his life. Yokai was obvious. He’d promised to work toward regaining her trust, hoping to rekindle their flame. But the pair were almost mortal enemies. Entering a relationship where Flux tried to kill his other lovers would never work.

“Before I give you my answer, I need to ask you something.”

“Anything.”

“You know of my other relationships. Yokai and even Justice you showed hostility towards. If we were to walk down this path, I couldn’t have you destroy that which is mine. You’d need to be able to at least be cordial with anyone else that I share my bed with. Is that something you’re willing to accept?”

Flux lowered her head and twisted her lips. They stood there for what felt like an eternity before she looked up at him with soft eyes. “For you, I’d do anything.”

“Are you sure?” Gunner asked, smiling. “Your feuds can be quite… intense.”

Her flare of jealousy in her voice made her all that much cuter. “There’s no denying that if I could have you for myself and only me, that’s what I’d desire. But I know who you are. Your gravity… your power… pulls others towards you. As long as they show me respect, then I’ll… get along. I can’t promise I won’t get mad or argue. But I will do my best to make it work.”

Gunner leaned forward, his mouth only inches from hers. “If we do this, there’s no going back. Are you sure this is what you want?”

She wrapped an arm around his hip and placed a hand onto his chest, and said with full confidence, “Yes.”

Her words breached his guard, releasing the years of unconscious lust. He dropped the laptop and pulled her into his embrace. Their mouths collided. The kiss was hard and feral as they both gave into their desires.

It was unlike any kiss he’d ever experienced before. It wasn’t hot or heated from the lack of Flux’s breath. Her mouth was more malleable than rigid, allowing him to caress his wicked tongue without fear of hurting her. There was no taste or smell, it just was.

He assumed, given her inexperience, her tongue would whip around like one of her tentacles. But she was always a quick learner and let him set the pace, mimicking his own movements with ease. It was exactly what he wanted.

Each stroke of each other’s tongues stole every logical thought Gunner had. His mind focused on their kiss. She consumed his mind. His primal self seeped through his barrier as reservation gave way to emotion. But this was different.

Warmth flooded his whole body as he desired more, and Flux could feel it. She pressed her upper body onto him, securing herself to him as she lifted her legs and wrapped them around his hips. He didn’t need to hold her. Even with her volume, she felt weightless.

Small moans bubbled from her mouth as his hands pressed against her back. She was like a clay he could mold, springing back its original place with each firm grasp.

“I love the way you touch me,” Flux said, breaking apart her lips before diving right back in.

Her words flamed his desire as his hands searched every inch of her. The texture of her skin shifted from the stretchy fabric of her super suit to the silky-smooth skin of her purple body. There was no need to remove any of her clothes. She was already ready for him.

Gunner took a moment to gaze at her beautiful body. She held onto him in her human form. Her perfect white skin shined in the artificial light above. Her teardrop breasts rested above the top of her stomach, presenting their perfectly pink center. A recessed abdomen curved with her arched back. Each flexed thigh created points to her perfectly smooth mound.

Gunner wanted it all. He lunged back for her mouth and worked his way down. His mouth kissed from her jaw to her neck. Flux let out a moan, reassuring her pleasure. She tilted her head, giving him better access, as if telling him she would accept death if he would give it to her. He bit her neck.

“Mmm… master, that feels so good,” Flux moaned, digging her fingers into his back.

Her call of his forbidden title heightened his arousal. He bit harder, harder than he’d dare to do to another person. But her body stretched as his teeth tapped together.

Her body quivered. “Oh god yes.”

His insides boiled, and his legs moved on their own. He charged forward until they reached the wall with a hearty smack. Through a frantic rush, he ripped his shirt off, before diving for her mouth. He sucked on her bottom lip as it trembled with anticipation. His hands scoured her skin, searching for every erogenous zone it could find. When they reached her bottom, he grabbed mighty handfuls of her cheeks, squeezing and spreading them.

She moaned as their lips folded. After she pulled away, Flux moved to his chest, giving him a moment to breathe. Her tongue slithered in a design to maximize her touch.

“I love your beautiful body,” she said in between pecks. “The taste. The smell. I want it all.”

His cock painfully throbbed as it yearned for release from his trousers. All pretenses fell away. He wanted to grant her wish and break her.

But this wasn’t her. Not her true self. This was the facade she kept up for their security. To avoid any needless questions about what she was.

Gunner slid his hand down her cheek and lifted her chin. “Then why don’t you show me yours?”

Flux’s eyes darted back and forth before looking down. “Do you want me to change to someone else?”

Gunner smiled after kissing her lips. “No. I want to see you. The real you.”

Flux bit her lip, letting out a soft squeal as her skin shifted. She kept the same form, but instead of her pink and white skin, it became a semi-transparent purple.

“Beautiful,” Gunner said, pulling her lips to his.

Flux pulled him tight. Her assaulting kisses matched the frantic nature of her hands. She wanted him and craved him. Seeing this ravenous side of her made it so hard to resist. He wanted to let go and give in to his most primal desires.

She made the choice for him. With her hands pressed against his back and their tongues intertwined, something slid into his waistlines. Gunner opened his eyes and looked down. Four tendrils had protruded from Flux’s back. Two wormed their way in the front of his pants while the others swayed with her pleasure.

They slid their way down to his groin, wrapping themselves around his most sensitive bits. Their smooth texture and gentle touch sent a shiver down his body. They stroked and kneaded to their hearts’ content as his body lit with lust.

Flux’s boldness surprised him, but a wicked smile crested his face as an idea popped in his mind. He pulled back from her lips, keeping his forehead touching hers. Her purple eyes looked up at him for wanting and reassurance.

“You’re a bad girl, Flux,” Gunner said with a teasing smile.

Her body melted against him. The drop of her slime hit the floor with a consistent thud. “I am?”

“Oh yes. I didn’t say you could play with that.”

Flux swallowed hard as a bead of drool fell from the side of her mouth. She begged, “Please master? Can I have it?”

Gunner smirked. “Only because you asked nicely.”

He leaned back, bracing his thick shaft against her slit. He paused when he felt no opening.

Sensing his reservation, Flux said, “Just thrust it in. You won’t hurt me.”

Reserved, Gunner pushed it in. Her thick outer layer gave way, revealing a more viscous center. It felt different from the rest of her. This part of her was full of warmth and wet. As he inched inside of her, he took in a quickened breath. She was tight, oh so tight.

Flux head fell back, and she gasped, “More.”

Gunner's reservations shattered as he slammed into her with one hard thrust. She let out a feral moan as her legs quivered. He was so hard and so deep. She enveloped him completely.

“God, you feel so fucking good,” Gunner moaned. He slid out of her, her slime sloshing and pulling along his shaft. He slammed harder. Her whimpers fanning his lust for her.

Each thrust brought another whimper. He wanted to hear it again and again. She stared into his eyes, mouth agape and lost for words. As he quickened the pace, she nodded feverishly.

“Yes. Yes. Yes! Master. Use me. Mold me. Fuck me.”

Gunner bucked into her with a brutal pace. He grabbed her hips, thrusting deep and hard into her body. He watched his cock slide inside of her semi-transparent form, pressing deep into her figurative womb.

Her eyes rolled into the back of her head. She let out a cry of pleasure. Her body went limp to where he thought she’d melt through his fingers. But her gaze slowly returned. This time with more hunger.

Flux leaned into her heightened pleasure. She stretched her arms upward, pressing against the wall for leverage. She rocked her hips with more force, making each press that much more intense. Each one brought a wave of pleasure that spread throughout his body.

Gunner’s power flared. His skin tingled as steam rose from his skin. He looked down at his arms and concern flashed over his face.

Flux wrapped her hands around his neck and bounced on his rod. She shook her head and begged, “Please, don’t stop.”

He didn’t know what was going to happen, but there was no chance that he could stop now. Gunner wrapped his arms under her knees for leverage and rammed into her box, using her counter swing to press deeper and harder.

Flux pressed her lips into his, her whine barely muted as her whole body shook. The subtle drip of her slime became rain as she melted in his arms. Her insides contracted fiercely.

He grunted as he struggled not to immediately lose himself. He was so close to the edge, but wanted more. But Flux’s lustful wails called him like a siren beckoning him to crash against her shores.

The knot of pleasure built toward its climax. Gunner squeezed his arms around her and gave her everything he had. He drove his power into her with mighty thrusts again and again. With a heightened moan as he released into her. He stood there, resting his head onto hers as he caught his breath.

When he pulled away, the room was bright. He looked down at himself and he was covered in his purple flame. Panic set in until he looked down at her smile. She didn’t look to be in pain.

“Are you okay?” he asked. “I’m not hurting you, am I?

“I’m perfect,” Flux cooed.

He looked down to see a bright white light circling inside of Flux’s core. “What is that?”

“It's you inside of me. It's the most precious gift you could have given me. One that I will cherish for eternity.” She leaned forward with a brimming smile and softly kissed him. “Thank you.”

As the two shared another kiss and a smile, an explosion pulled their view outside. They pulled each other close as the world outside came crashing back to their focus. Their moment together was a brief reprieve from the dangers that lurked all around them.

Flux turned and looked up at Gunner. “I know what you have to do. But before you do, promise me that whatever happens, that you’ll come back to me.”

“Flux…”

“Promise!”

Gunner let out a sigh, smiled, and nodded. “I promise.”

Flux wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him to her lips. She kissed him deeply and passionately. They groaned in their sensitivity as her body slid off of him. When they parted, they shared a short laugh. He watched as the bright light in her belly faded before she resumed her superhuman look.

“I should get a change of clothes and we should both head downstairs,” Gunner said. “They could all already be waiting for us.”

“Yes, Sir,” Flux said, grinning from ear to ear.

Gunner grabbed the laptop on their way out of the secret room and shut the door behind them.
