Hey everyone! I figured I'd start my week with a weekly update and discuss some thoughts that I have, along with news to share.

Warhawk's Amnesty:
WA is progressing well. I've relit the fire on myself to get this novel done. My plan is to finish this off by mid-October. Lauren will be starting the bulk of the edits on October 18th with plans to get it finished no later than November 5th. This works well because Rebecca Woods and a new narrator, William (don't have the last name), have agreed to do the audiobook for Warhawk. I posted a sample today for you all to listen to. They'll start recording in October with the chapters that are already edited and then ramp up recording in November. So hopefully, the ebook and audiobook release are only a few weeks apart.

A Romp:
I got some pretty cool stats I wanted to share. A Romp has hit top 100 podcasts on itunes in both Egypt and Australia, and hit top 200 in the US. For a podcast with only three public episodes, I think that's pretty freaking cool. We hit over 5000 downloads last week and we're seeing ~100% growth on each episode, which is a good sign that more people are listening and interested in the show. My goal was to have this be something that could become a continuous thing, and while we're not at the point where I can commit to more episodes outside of the first season, I am pretty excited to see how much it is growing with each release. We've still got 9 episodes ahead of the public.

Art:
Holy is wrapping up Yora's NSFW art, which will be for December. I am hoping to have it in the next few weeks. Then she'll be jumping to Zix. Chloe is working on Kasta's character sheets, which will be done this week.

Deciding on what's next:
Now's the reason for the poll. I'm interested to hear from you all about what you'd like to see from me next? I am contemplating releasing one more standalone novel before working on Aspect Book 4 and wrapping up that series. There are two reasons for this. Reason 1  is because of my cash position. A Romp is expensive and Book 1's sell the best. Releasing another book 1 after Warhawk would put me in a much better place financially so I can focus on more A Romp episodes while not dipping into my personal income. Reason 2 is because of Chloe's schedule. Finishing up Kasta's art this week leaves her with Yora and Zix left. That will put her into October and November, meaning we would be looking at the cover for book 4 not until December. I'd like to release another book before the years end. Not sure how feasable it is for me since I'm not full time, but that's my goal after releasing Warhawk.

However, it ultimately comes down to what you all would like to see more of from me. That brings us to the poll on this week's weekly update. Out of the options below, what would you like to see after Warhawk?

Please choose your top three!

For the new series, I've added some details below to give you an idea of what kind of story you could expect.

Aspect book 4 - continues and concludes Tempest's journey.

Fantasy revenge harem - A general in the emperor's army goes against his orders after years of needless slaughter of the subhuman races. He elicits a rebellion and fails an assassination attempt dying in the process. He is resurrected by the goddess of hatred to build an army to overthrow the emperor who now claims himself a god. The man must build an army of the subraces, turning into the one thing he was built to destroy. Working Title - Overpowered Overlord.

Slice of life - I am thinking about building off of Inn Too Deep. While the short was a bit more action packed than what I have envisioned for the full novel, it's hard for me to leave this band of characters with only one three chapter short. This would be a short novel around them running the Crossroads Tavern while trying to integrate themselves into society.

An isekai portal harem fantasy - I haven't written a true isekai portal fantasy yet. While the Aspect has some elements of it with him being born into a world, I think writing a character with the knowledge he brings with him would be awesome. Daniel Black has always been one of my favorite series. I also love kingmaker. I think the idea of building a kingdom would be really cool.

Post-apocalyptic harem - I'm a huge fan of wasteland and fallout. This would be a love letter to that series. The idea is that the guy works something akin to the desert rangers, but more as a mercenary. He tends to take jobs from the high-powered factions. However, after a job goes wrong, revealing mysteries of the past, he decides to take matters into his own hands, stop following others, and becoming a leader the people need him to be.

A Paranormal harem series - This has been on my mind a while. Every heard of SCP? Basically a mix between that, hellboy, and suicide squad. After a supernatural event occurs, a man wakes up in a hidden government facility to find out he has the ability to communicate with other objects and creatures touched by an unknown force that's being studied. He awakes with new powers that give him an edge. With the events becoming more frequent, the man is tasked with creating a gang to investigate the mysteries of these artifacts and events that occur.

Last thing from me this week. I  have a surprise for all of you audio lovers. I spoke with Rebecca and she's agreed to record the Inn Too Deep short. That should be available very soon as a Patreon exclusive. She sent me some recordings of her performing some of the voices so I could settle on how I want the characters to sound. I can't wait!

Hope you all have a great week ahead!

Didn't really care for post-apocalypse scenarios until I read Misty Vixen's "Haven". That was an awesome series with strong female leads and a level-headed MC that progresses really well. Would enjoy reading similar novels.

I really like Misty but I haven't had a chance to check out her stuff. Mostly because she doesn't do a lot of audiobooks. I'll have to carve out some time to check this out. What about it do you like so much about this one vs others you've read?

James Stephens

Goddess of hatred? That sounds super intriguing!

I really liked the character growth of the MC and as he develops his skills, strength, and leadership to support the village he starts. I also enjoyed the personalities of all the side characters. Most of the other apocalypse series has the MC completely eclipse his harem in skill and talent to the point that they are nothing much more than an enjoyable smut chapter and now and then in the novel. I'm getting more and more burnt out on novels like that.
