Finally had time to finish it. What an amazing emotional rollercoaster for Tempest. And Rebecca Woods did an excellent job in catching these emotions in her narration. I feel a little bad for the other god after their fate but at least two of them are still there somewhere. Why did Nysit not react to Tempests doings? I mean it was kind of inside his body. You would think he can intervene there somehow. Being a god and stuff :D Anyways, it was a great story and i'm looking forward to the next one!

This is a great question! This gets a bit spoiler territory that gets explained a bit more in book 4. When Nysit split himself it's like a bastardization of the aspect process. It weakened him significantly which is why he was going around absorbing his kin's essence as a replacement. His main focus is finding Septimus. So while Tempest was surviving and taking care of the 7, he was doing other things. One thing I tried to make clear is while the gods are powerful, they are not completely omniscient except for Iais.
