Gay Bars Getting Raid and Reclaiming the F-Slur (Patreon)

This last week there were a number of raids in the Seattle area targetting Gay bars. From how this feels problematic to even the reclamation of the f slur and our thoughts. Join us in today's convo!

Maybe it's the linguist in me, but it seems to me f*g should be reclaimed for cigarettes, not people. Meanwhile, reclaiming queer (for people) makes perfect sense to me as being gay (or other identities) is, by definition, queer, in that we aren't usual; and that shouldn't be a problem. Indeed, thinking of what my life would be like as a straight guy, I'm glad I'm queer, being straight just sounds so boring to me. As long as I can be who I am without being persecuted for it, being gay is pretty awesome, and I embrace the queerness of it.
