Bench seats.... omg Daddy.... I miss them soooo much. Yes.... i had a panel van with a bench seat.... Not everyone can have the experience Daddy has but i def agree - i think there is more.

A friend of mine bought me this book, mostly as a joke but it wasn't bad if you put aside the physics of it all...and dinosaur billionaires. Seems to me there was either tailpipe or stick shifts involved. (And I've seen stick shift videos. 😲) Helicopter Man Pounds Dinosaur Billionaire by Chuck Tingle. It was in his dino shifter period. https://www.amazon.com/Helicopter-Man-Pounds-Dinosaur-Billionaire/dp/1517103150/ref=mp_s_a_1_1

Gotta love Chuck Tingle, especially for his titles

Is a panel van… is a van a truck there or is a van a van? And if it’s a van van do you mean like one of those roomy vans from the 70s and 80s? And where is the panel?

M3licious - Melinda Lee

Well the original meaning of the word was a van with flat panel sides from the 1920s....buttttttt 😂 I forget that in Australia everything is something different. Our panel vans are essentially a ute with additional body work on the back. Our Utes are utility vehicles...best to google images (look up the sandman panel van). But to answer your question the panel vans are panel vans, they are neither vans or trucks 😂. The internet tells me the USA version would be considered a "sedan delivery" vehicle... Which sounds absolutely terrible. I had a Ford xf panel van with barn doors at the back and no windows at all...so u can imagine the fun. It was an ex plumbers vehicle so had a lot of tie points and a caged barrier between the front bench seat and the rear "cargo" area. I kinda wish I still had it. And for the oldies in here...it had a column shifter!!!

Kamala

Ohhh so like a full sized pickup but with a camper shell - but permanent. Ok. Could you go from the front seat to the back directly or did you have to get out and walk around to the back? Is it like the amazon delivery vehicles sort of? I have no idea what a sedan delivery vehicle is anyway.

Kamala

Looked up Sandman panel van (nice thing to say) and we never really had those here. Looks like an el Camino with a hatchback 😆. In other words, the vehicles are shorter than I was thinking but the same idea

M3licious - Melinda Lee

Nope, not an American full sized pick up. They are most def bigger than our Utes lol. I know this because my dad had a f100 with the cabin shell and u had to walk through it.... Our panel vans not so much. They idea is similar but different. It depends on the model but mostly not. U gotta get out of the car to the back. Mine u couldn't because of the cage partition. Shorter!!! How dare u 😂 u can put a matress in the back and all sorts of things.

Kamala

By shorter I mean less tall rather than less long lol. I’m glad you can fit a mattress in the back 😂

Kamala

Oh, and the problem with bench seats, since it’s what I have now, is that if the driver (me) seems to have short legs when it comes to driving and has the seat pretty far forward, if my passenger is tall, they are pretty crammed in. That and the stick is very much a barrier
