Greetings to all of our lovely patrons, we deeply apologize for the long hiatus on information, but once again we've been very busy in development. To those that are not in the discord, and are not privy to as much information, I hope to in this post explain much of what we have been doing, and alleviate as many questions as I can. To preface this, however, I want to stress that this post will contain NO NSFW CONTENT as per our stance on Patreon. If you want to discuss NSFW, the discord will be your only platform to do so, I'm sorry, but that is how it has to be.
Now, to start with, let's begin with Gizmo's latest post, but beware, there are some [SPOILERS] ahead!
"Hello Patrons! Its Gizmo with another update as to whats going on with things. Ive begun development on our questing tool which will allow us to define quests and write the steps needed to complete them on a quest log. This will allow us to organize the game better in terms of what you need to do for main portions of the game. We will still have quests that wont be publicly available in the quest log but will be written in by our story writers using our custom variables tool and dialogue tool.
Ive completed the companions code for now and will continue to update it as needed. You can now open the party editor and select companions in your party and view things like their name, armor, and stats. Companions will spawn around you and will follow you around the map. Until more changes come to the AI, they will simply teleport to you if the distance to reach you is too far or they are unable to navigate to you. The inventory screen now features a little selection window for you to select which companion to edit their equipped items, along with the ability to edit the inventory of companions not in your party. Finally you can switch between companions using the companion selector which lets you select a companion to play as. It will switch the game to that character and youll be able to play as them and use abilities that only they have. I will need to add companion related rules such as checking for companions, unlocking new companions, etc, to the dialogue editor but will get to that once quests involving companions are being created.
Theres been a lot of developments in the game with the 3D concept and angles. We are currently looking into the art and our artist, Compound, is taking up the 3D modelling portion along with the 2D art portion. Hes implementing the full level art from start to finish."
In other news, Archie and Abelius have been hard at work on the K model. Making new work in progress tests on the model itself for animating the rig:
And Kuja has been creating the other character models for the demo, as well as creating potential future clothing for our beloved Fox:

As for myself, I have been writing potential designs for many of the future creatures, companions, and items we plan to have within the full game. Items such as this:
"* 6) M91 "Equalizer" Antimaterial Rifle
Type: Federation AT Rifle
Talent Prerequisites: 'Heavy Weapons Training I'
Damage: 30-50 (Piercing)
Max Range: 28m
Magazine: 3
Modifier(s):
Basic Attack uses 1 round of ammunition per turn. Critical hits will stun, and knock the target down, and will hit any targets behind the target in a line.
Heavy Shot becomes "Explosive Filler", and do extremely high damage to a single target upon impact, but it will no longer be 'piercing' damage, and will become a mixture of slashing and bludgeoning damage. Damage is determined by heavy shot level.
Rapid Shot will become "AP-I", and trade 50% of the piercing damage for fire damage. Amount of piercing damage lost is based upon rapid shot level.
Precision Shot will be replaced with 'Overcharge', which will drop the damage by 70%, but it will be true-damage instead of piercing, with a lower chance of hitting, and will hit any targets behind the target in a line. Damage and chance of hitting is based upon the level of precision shot.
Description:
The M91 AMR is an extremely powerful weapon that accelerates a 20x160mm tungsten long rod penetrator at speeds of 2700 m/s, and is capable of punching holes through very thick armor. Designed by Detrich Gostov, the founder of Gostov Arms, he labeled it the 'Equalizer' as it put the ability to penetrate heavily armored vehicles into the hands of the average soldier. In addition to the standard APFSDS projectile, it comes with two manufactured variants: An explosive-filler projectile which causes a slight loss in penetrative ability but can inflict far more internal damage upon post-penetration of a thick target. An Armor piercing Incendiary munition which has a thin Tungsten outer shell followed by an incredibly dense phosphorus coated Iridium core. Upon penetrating a target, the phosophorus is exposed to oxygen and ignites the Iridium dust, causing a violent fire, possibly even an explosion when mixed properly with oxygen.
The Equalizer also has an overcharge functionality thanks to its NR12 rail system combined with state of the art DL9 self-charging power bank. The overcharge accelerates the projectile up to 4000 m/s. The overcharge function drains the battery and is cautioned against softer targets, as it often means over-penetration with minimal spalling, so it is recommended to be used against heavy armor."
And creatures such as this:
"Name: Gwarvyk
Type: Frost Giant
Found in: Snow Mountains
Size: 2.4-3 meters tall
Weight: 230kg on average
Lifespan: 75 years
Threat level: Extremely High
Description: Sentient, but not quite intelligent, the Gwarvyk live in the coldest reaches of the planet. Highly territorial and monstrously strong creatures, they will kidnap or kill anyone that wanders into their lands. Subsisting off of roots, animals, and unfortunate visitors, the Gwarvyk's name translates in Urzukai tongue to 'Long Hair', which is an apt description of their appearnce. Standing tall and wide the 'Long Hairs' hold some birdlike features, but with ape-like hands and feet. Their fur which covers most of their body is extremely long and often varies in color.
The females vary little from the males, but appear to be either muscular or chubby and have ... The males have thick and stubby ... (Not for Patreon, I'm afraid)"
Now that you are aware of what we've been doing the last month, I'm going to post a FAQ I've been working on for a while to try and answer some frequent questions:
Q: Will K have customization?
A: Yes, the extent of which is still being discussed, but we feel that fur colorations, skins (musculature/textures), hair styles, breast sizes, and tail styles will likely be customizable.
Q: Why the K remodel?
A: Complaints. Lots and lots of complaints, so we decided to redo it as best we could, and this new K model will be **final**.
Q: What will combat be like?
A: If you could imagine a turn based system similar to KOTOR, but in 2D form with some improvements.
Q: Will everyone in the village still be the same?
A: Largely for the most part, only Cenvir and the Chieftain will be getting personality changes
Q: How will the overall story change?
A: It will be tighter and more grounded, immersion is one of my personal priorities when writing. As many details as I can afford.
Q: Is K going to have the same backstory or something different?
A: K (And the name will be changeable in game), will be a girl born upon a federation world who joined the Federation out of school to become a pilot. Simple as that. She may have an ordinary upbringing, but she will become extraordinary during the course of the game.
Q: Will demons like that fox girl still be a thing?
A: Yes. Only they will be presented in a far more subtle and 'over time' fashion.
Q: What other races are planned besides snakes, lizards, and wolves?
A: As of right now, Jackals, Hyenas, Cats, Dogs (Federation), and smaller desert lizards. (This may change, we may increase or decrease the scope in this area if possible/necessary)
Q: Will there still be a slave route?
A: Yes and no, due to the complexity of the game design we've been planning, having an entire route of slavery would be too difficult to add. However I have plans for a sizeable slave side-quest.
Q: Will weapons and equipment have RPG elements like stats, bonuses, poison/bleed effects, etc.?
A: Yes. K herself will have stats and 'talents' that will function like feats from KOTOR. Equipment and weaponry will effect these stats negatively or positively.
Q: Will there be fast travel?
A: Yes, out of combat fast travel between points of interest.
Q: Will there be a gallery?
A: Yes, it will be unlocked by beating the game. The amount of content we have planned will be simply too large to expect players to have to find each scene to unlock it. So to make it simpler, beat game, get gallery.
Q: Will there be any post-game content?
A: Yes, new game + will be available once you've beaten the game, where you can start the game at max level with all of the gear you acquired in your previous game. Enemies will be much tougher, and there may be some unique rewards for new game + completions.
Q: Will there be secrets?
A: Yes. Unique and hidden weapons, equipment, easter eggs, and perhaps even secret characters/companions. These, unlike the gallery, must be found in order to be unlocked.
Q: How will quests work?
A: Standard self-contained RPG styled quests. Receive quest from talking to people, witnessing things, reading item descriptions, then complete quests for XP/rewards.
Q: How much equipment will the characters in the party work?
A: We plan on having the following slots:
* Markings (Tattoo)
* Head
* Upper Body
* Lower Body
* Hands
* Feet
* Underwear (With top/bottom toggle)
* Main hand weapon
* Shield slot (Will be unavailable with certain weapons)
Q: Will companions be the only love interests in the game?
A: Yes, all companions will be capable of 'intimacy', but only some will be romance-able, and this will influence the ending of the game.
Q: How will the dreams work?
A: Progressively becoming more nightmarish and surreal as the being grasps hold of your mind and attempts to corrupt you. There will be some gameplay in the dreams, and content for both SFW and NSFW versions.
Q: Will K be a futa?
A: No.
Q: Will there be pregnancy?
A: Not for the main character.
Q: Why is development taking so long?
A: Because of many different reasons. Kuja had to redraw stuff multiple times because of complaints from the community, and some weird setbacks involving random events affecting our various devs. We are also taking a very long time to set up the foundation properly, so a game of this size can be made. Gizmo is making brand new tools to help the development, and Archie is making the rigs as detailed and user-friendly as possible so that we can have a lot of variety in species/animations, which is what most of the community wants and one of the most requested things that the old build was lacking.
Q: Are there any plans for different male body types?
A: Yes. Dad bods, scrawny, and chad builds will be things.
Q: Why is there no Trello?
A: We won't have one for a while, the old one was outdated and all of our focus so far has been on creating the foundation and demo. We'll most likely have one ready for the public when the full game is being worked on.
Q: How will the game start out?
A: On the ship, you'll be able to explore it and speak to crew members.
Q: Will there be voice acting?
A: Partial voice acting. We put out a call for voice talent some time ago, and many great people stepped forward willing to help. The voice acting will mostly be in the form of grunts, moans, death sounds, and the like. Though if we had enough funding and time, we could even potentially do full voice acting, but that is more of a pipe dream.
Q: How can I support the project?
A: If you cannot afford to support us by funding this project, then you may spread the word about it, or simply just hang out with us in the discord and talk. The game will eventually be free, and we would just like to make a good game to the best of our ability, and we always enjoy constructive feedback/suggestions. As far as our recent goal, it is important that we can get the funding to be able to pay Compound for his amazing work. We are also still looking for talented voice actors, so if you would like to try, contact Vlad in the official discord which you can find here: https://discord.gg/YfwBK4P
I hope you all found this helpful, cheers! - Vlad and the LoK Team
