Hi people, just some heads up on progress.

CPU and memory utilization are becoming a serious problem with development. I guess you're not noticing it because the compiled game runs smoothly and all, but I need to wait like 20 seconds just to run the game inside the editor and then it's still kind of choppy.

So, if the game is supposed to grow even more, I need to make drastic changes on how the engine manages assets and hardware resources.

I've implemented automatic "culling" logic that stops animations that are not seen on screen, and that has helped a lot to reduce CPU usage. Now I'm in the process of using asset instantiation to dynamically create and destroy objects (this helps with memory usage). This second part is more complex, so it'll take one or two more days, plus the troubleshooting.

Why didn't I did this before? Well, the reason of always: I know far more now than when we started two years ago. And this way of doing things, even though it's more complex, it's also more professional. I simply wasn't ready before.

Anyway, I'd bet that after I'm done you'll notice subtle changes if your rig is powerful, but much more noticeable frame gains if you're computer is old.

Thank you.
