Hello! I wanted to write a behind-the-scenes look that's a little different from most. It's another font escapade, this time editing an existing font off of Google Fonts: Days One by Alexander Kalachev, Ivan Gladkikh, Alexei Maslov, made in 2008. Aside from just studying the thick letterforms and curves, I wanted to create a slight variant of it that portrays the paneling seen on the logo of the game Subnautica.

Turned out pretty well, and I even applied it to some glyphs that aren't in the logo!

Now, why did I choose this particular font editing project, you ask? You'll have to wait and see...

By the way, I'm once again using FontForge for this project! It's a bit rough around the edges but it is free and quite robust at creating font glyph vectors.
