If you follow me on twitter, you may have seen me mention a few times that I've been half-finishing a lot of video projects lately which I never end up posting. For whatever reason, I've been getting harder and harder on myself about what videos I'm willing to go to the trouble of editing and actually posting, so when I lose confidence in an idea then I tend to abandon it.

However, some of my posts that I've abandoned are close enough to a completed state that they might be interesting to look over for some people. Ironically, even though a big part of why these never got finished is that I felt they weren't good enough for my patreon backers to pay for, I think you guys would appreciate having the bonus content the most. Let me know what you think, and feel free to discuss them as you normally would using Patreon's comments.

The Fascinating Failure of Ponycanyon at Otakon 2015 (unedited video):

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BwnXByJZ9gFtaXJHYkFVTWlkT2c/view?usp=sharing

(A story about the anime industry and some observations I made at otakon. Just didn't like how long-winded it came out or think the subject was that interesting once I'd actually talked about it, plus for whatever reason I look fat as shit.)

Everyone Is Badass In Evangelion Eps. 6&7 (text only):

https://myswordisunbelievablydull.wordpress.com/2015/08/12/everyone-is-badass-in-evangelion-eps-67/

(I released this one publicly on my blog, and may try to work some of the points into a future video, but overall I felt like this one took way too much explaining to get to a very simple point, and reeks a bit much of stating the obvious. Again, if I can work the actual salient points I make at the end into something else I will, but I feel like this was mostly made because it was the only thing I could think of to write about those particular episodes, and it's more important to me that all my Eva vids be equally good than it is that I cover every single episode.)

What Makes Madhouse Adaptations Special (text only):

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1JsA7XAaPTJVmWOmP88C2JAD8uB6X5SkqjfVzDcjsXU8/edit?usp=sharing

(this one I decided had too small of a sample pool, and that it's too reductive to suggest that Madhouse is the only studio doing great adaptations like this.)

You guys also might be interested in following my Sword Art Online rewrite project which I've been hashing out on reddit. There's 40 mins of audio and a bunch of text, but I'm not in a hurry to get this done. It may eventually result in some videos in the future:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Digibro/comments/3fyk41/audio_if_sword_art_online_were_good_discussion/

Also worth mentioning, I added the Food, Sex, and Life in Koufuku Graffiti video to the deleted videos archive, since it was removed after some asshole flagged it. And yes, that means I have a strike on my account again :(

I hope you guys enjoy all this content, and that I can get a bunch of properly-finished content out for you by the end of the month. If I can get like 5 or so videos out, I'll be able to afford that bed next month!

Thanks for the extras! I enjoyed watching the ponycanyon video (it's always interesting to hear more about real world industry stuff) and am now listening to the SAO audio. IMO, even if you don't feel like the topics are peak-interesting, we still enjoy hearing from you.

I liked your commentary about PonyCanyon. Yeah I don't think they've figured out how to copy Aniplex's success. I definitely think Aniplex does a great job of marketing, and really appreciated that they did things like premiering the Madoka movies in America at the same time as Japan. I'm one of those superfans who have thrown probably $500 their way on Madoka discs and merch. Speaking of Hibike, will you ever make a video about your thoughts on that show? I really enjoyed it myself, I'd possibly even consider buying the discs once PonyCanyon lists them. How did you feel about the show in the end?

2022-03-13 07:52:18 I enjoyed Hibike a good bit, but I kinda felt like the stuff I said about eps 1&2 was most of what I had to say about the show, so I didn't bother doing a follow-up.

I am so hyped for the bed's unboxing video.
