First things first, this patreon is for the inside scoop on the tabletop wargame Mercy's Reach: Incursus. Creating a grand scale game with unique models is a lot of work, and there's tons of art assets and writing involved which will translated into rule and lore books. Let us delve into the lore a bit as we begin this first week...

The Battlecarrier Mercy's Reach is an ancient warship, built during the golden age of space faring exploration in the human home system of Sol. Its construction was overseen by Sarah Nichols Landauer, a brilliant and revolutionary engineer with supernatural knowledge. One of her crowning achievements being total gravity manipulation technology, which has never been fully replicated after Mercy's Reach was completed and disappeared from known space.

For over a millennia, Lady Landauer and her growing crew of transhuman demi-gods sailed the turbulent void, cataloging the stars and laying the groundwork for colonists. Though the drift through space was mostly peaceful, there were wars of division within the growing empires of humanity which Mercy's Reach fought to end before the species destroyed itself.

Early into the 2nd Era of Mercy's Reach, the Battlecarrier now under the command of Neila Mercy-Devout III,  followed an alien signal to a system deep within the  human empire's untapped Western, or spinward, expanse. It was the first direct attempt from a non-human civilization to make contact, but it was impossible to know the truth of the message. Upon entering the star system of the signal's origin, Mercy's Reach found no signs of life, only a frozen world orbiting a harsh sun.

Venturing down to the solitary planet, the Heroes of Mercy discovered the embattled ruins of a machine  civilization colony which had been built over top another species entirely. Like a scene of horror frozen in time, the machinery came to life with glitching and vicious  programs...
