Little fun fact, this was Cameron Diaz's first movie and she absolutely killed it. I absolutely love the 2 dance numbers at the club with Stanley and Tina and when the cops are trying to arrest Stanley at the park.

Its still crazy to think that Ace Ventura, The Mask, and Dumb and Dumber all came out the same year.

Lol every time. I'm ready at this point to immediately lower the volume.

Gotta be honest, the music is like at least 50% of what makes this movie for me. That soundtrack was like my whole personality for a while there and it honestly was what first got me into swing. On another note, I always forget when rewatching these 90s comedies how obsessed the whole movie scene was back then with kind of sad-sack protagonists that somehow get the ludicrously attractive girl in the span of 90 minutes by just being moderately charming and inoffensive. Especially when it's such an unnecessary and hamfisted plot line like it seems here. Apart from evolving views on relationships and the dynamics between men and women, how did we not notice back then how these love stories are just crammed into movies that don't need them and frankly don't have time for them; characters always seem to fall in love within the span of 1 or 2 interactions, like, even back in the 90s, we must have known that that was kind of weird, no? Other than that, I think this movie is really just the Jim Carrey show and when he isn't in his mask character, the whole thing kind of drags. Carrey really shines here, it really seems like the producers just let him loose and let him do his thing, and it's phenomenal, but the whole second half of the movie when Stanley's trying to be himself (which I get, that's the message of the movie) just feels like your run-of-the-mill, not that funny, crime-comedy and I kind of start to drift out. Still, I have a lot of nostalgia for this film, was cool revisiting it with you, it really is exceptionally funny at times, just Jim Carrey at his best.

This movie is one of my earliest childhood memories and I literally haven't seen it since I was like 6 😂 About to grab some snacks and relive this one 🍿

I saw this in the cinema as a Tex Avery/Looney Tunes loving kid so I was completely hooked. I do remember watching a behind the scenes segment on TV (30 years ago) about their revolutionary CGI techniques but I couldn’t say what was CG and what was practical.

Refreshing for AoT🙏🙏 the end begins

This was always one of my 90's favorites from Jim Carrey!😉 With that mask on he was a cartoonish slave wacky wild man!🤣
