A great adaptation of the manga chapters, this was the perfect stopping point for the season. Beautifully animated, like you said Vicky, at times like a painting. The ambience, the acting, the characters, the story. All of this hits even deeper and crazier now that the anime is almost over, there are even layers that we had not caught in our first viewing. As much as you are enjoying it, it all exponentially gets so much better, if you can believe that. It was fascinating to me, I loved shows like The X-Files, Millennium, Lost, Breaking Bad, so everything in this anime hit the right sweet spot. Anime viewers would go on to wait four years for the next season, I was lucky I started watching in season 2 😂, I still had to wait between seasons, but nothing insane or torturous like that. You will get answers though.

I don’t know who’s more excited for you to start season 2, you or us! 😂 It really does just get better and better. Obviously I can’t say much about that ending with the wall, but I will say that you did see it correctly. So make of that what you will. You noticed all the things about Erwin that make me love him. He really is unflappable, isn’t he? And so freaking smart. And Jean!!! I’ve said it a million times but I’ll say again that I’m so happy you love Jean. In the manga Jean wasn’t present for any of that final battle between Annie/Eren—whoever decided to put him into those scenes for the anime is my personal hero haha. Oh and yes, his look back at Eren and Mikasa was out of jealousy. He still has feelings for Mikasa and it must be hard on him knowing she has eyes for no one but Eren. I never warmed up to Annie. I think it’s just her cold exterior and how she doesn’t care about anyone or anything. Levi also has that exterior but you can see how deeply he does care about others. Somehow that’s lacking in Annie, at least in my opinion. I’m glad you like her, though, and are able to see a deeper side of her. Impatiently waiting for season 2, which is much shorter. See you then!

You should watch the OVA called Ilse's notebook now. It released between season 1 and 2. There is also a Levi OVA called No Regrets that released at around the same time, but you can wait to watch it as long as you do it before season 3. It would be cool if you went back to read the wall of text (lol) in middle of this episode too.
