V, don't you have cats? I don't know about you but my cats hunt and play with bugs and spiders, including the dead ones. Hope that offers some comfort. These action movies with our favorite action actors when they are much older are so affectionately called Genri-Action films, lol. So the fridge scene is about how refrigerators were notorious death traps and how, of course, Indiana being one of a few that survived climbing into one. You ask why it didn't open during the explosion, and then make the claim how it saved his life when the officer asked why he climbed into it because they're death traps. IRL kids would be found dead in refrigerators, suffocated, because they lock and can only be opened from the outside. Kids playing hide-n-go seek in junk yards. Kids climbing into they're fridges while the parents weren't paying attention. Lead lined and sound proof. Tragic but a real thing in our past. The Ark of the Covenant and Mary were to help bring the story full circle, couple loose ends and all that, and the rumor was that Shia would become the next Indiana Jones, passing on the torch, so to speak (there is a literal scene where Indiana hands Shia a torch, lol), in the further films but there was a lot of public push back on that. Shia is a bit of a ...dramatic... individual, lol, he took it personally. It ended up not going through one way or another. Yes, Indiana helps the enemy, but think of it like this. He is one man. The enemy has resources, man-power, equipment, and drive. Most scientists that need these things have to appeal to panels and sponsors and the wealthy. Why not use the enemy until they hoist themselves on their own petard due their hubris? :) Those are bullet ants, V. Each bite feels like you got shot with a bullet. Yes, technically, they are real. This is a little aggregated for the film, but the issue they don't cover is that these ants are defending their home, not hunting for meat. Everyone gets up in arms about the Aliens angle but look at the other films. The Ark of the Covenant (literal God of the bible), Stones from the sky that allow people to use magic to tear people's hearts out...and grow crops, lol. The Holy Grail and the King Arthur myth. So why not Aliens? Honestly, right before this film was announced, there really was this huge boom in crystal skull theories, which is a real mythology we have had for years before this film. The fifth film is literally titled Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny so who knows what this could mean, lol.

The ongoing paranoia for the missing spider had me on tenterhooks for the entire reaction. I was half expecting it to crawl across the camera.
