Wolverine (2013) here!! I went into this not really knowing what to expect since I've always heard such split opinions, but after watching I see why! I could never picture Wolverine traveling to Japan or ever being open to it since I picture him as a hardcore all American type of guy. But when he does travel of course it quickly escalates and something that wasn't his problem initially, BECOMES his problem lmao (classic Logan)

Anyway my apologies for the constant cuts to the video! I was having so many issues with it and my computer it was very frustrating!! :(  Thank you so much guys, I hope you enjoy!!!

Inhuman Paradox

This is a weird one. James Mangold has said the film wasn't exactly what he originally wanted (He always said he wanted an R rated "Japanese Noir"), and that the entire third act was kinda something they shoved on him. It really shows to me, the first 2/3 are excellent but show some PG-13 watering down, while the last portions feel obligatory and a little ridiculous. Luckily the film was successful enough to where Mangold got them to give him full control over his next one, Logan. At the same time, it is still the Frank Miller Japan Wolverine stuff, and that was always some of my favorite stuff in the comics. In fact, I love anime Frank Miller, more than "gritty serious Frank Miller" by far. Like year TDKReturns and Man Without Fear are cool, but his original DD run with the crazy ninja stuff and his Wolverine comics? Infinitely more entertaining IMO. I liked that his Japan-inspired stuff could be dark, but also still have some comics silliness to them. I like that blend better than just going full realism or full camp.

FYI she is watching the extended version.

^ For anyone watching on Disney+ and struggling to stay in sync, this is why.

I can’t wait for you to watch Logan! It was Huge Jackmans last time playing Wolverine until the recent announcement that he will reprise the roll in Deadpool 3. Others may argue but as far as I’m concerned Logan is the best superhero movie ever made.

Wolverine has a history tied to Japan. This was one of the better Wolverine movies to come out before Logan knocked the rest to the bottom of the ocean.

I dont know where you watch your movies, but try watching them all in one place. Amazon Prime is reliable for subtitles. Disney Plus is too, the Daredevil situation is the exception. Just stick to those sites so you can avoid the confusion of foreign languages. Also, it would be great if you could get the Rogue Cut of Days Of Future Past. It's not required, but it is a cool experience.

Wish that was mentioned before watching, I had to keep stopping my TV for hers to catch up.

Love your videos V! I have a request though. For some of these movie reactions, would it be okay if you could let us know where you're watching these movies so we can watch along with you? I don't always know which streaming platform has which movies so it'd be very much appreciated. I watched this one from HBO Max and I felt like it's sync with your video was off :(

Yeah, I'm sorry. it gets too hard to follow with the HBO version. So thank you for considering this in the future.

I'm not sure how It could show some PG-13 watering down when the unrated cut she watched with blood isn't PG-13.

Hated???? Nobody hated this movie. That's so, so odd to hear. It's not the best plot, but people hated Origins, the last Wolverine movie you watched. I like them all. This movie's fantastic with action, sword fights, emotion, style, and Hugh's never looked better. It's the most perfect solo Wolverine film(so far) without the depression of the future(film). (no spoilers) It's a movie you WANT to watch again, rather that feel like watching again cause it's been a long time since you've seen it and you want to feel sad.

Inhuman Paradox

This is an unrated alternate cut that Mangold was allowed to make after the original one. The film was watered down to PG-13 in production, Fox just let him add some blood and swearing back for the Blu Ray. In terms of the original cut is what I'm more talking about, though both have the studio-mandated third act CGI fight.
