Wandavision | Episode 7

Adam Grunther

Are you still going to watch the other X-Men movies? Is the plan to do one a month each?

vkunia

Yes I will be getting back to X-Men! My plan is to watch/finish the series that I started 😅. I get too ahead of myself sometimes

John

I'm interested to hear your thoughts when it is over! :D

Lee Aguera

WandaVision is...okay. Its fine. I think it suffered from being the first MCu show post endgame and during the pandemic, when really it was slated for like mid-phase 4 as kinda a joke/throw away show. So there was this expectation of weight and gravitas that wasn't in the cards. The next show, Falcon and the Winter Soldier I think is far superior with a much more emotional take. WandaVision spent way too long on the joke premise of the fake tv show, when it really didn't have the runtime to spare.

Check out the aftercredit scene for this ep if you have time. I believe there are aftercredits in the rest of the series, too.

2 episodes (3 credit scenes) left

i like your mean face

You missed the after credit scene...

Lorenzo Baxter

I agree and disagree. This is by no means a throwaway show. And the Fake TV stuff is about the mystery, which is the very thing that kept people watching, it still holds up, the only time it struggles is the finale which a lot of the Marvel shows have an issue with sadly. But I do love Falcon and The Winter Soldier, much more than most of the MCU fans. I think it's truly a fantastic experience.

Lorenzo Baxter

Yeah as others have said you missed an end credit scene. And the last two episodes have end scenes as well. The finale has two. And I'm happy you got it right, this is based off of Modern Family and you even recognized Yo Gaba Gaba!?! Girl you are amazing 👏 Monica had her body mutate from the magic of the Hex. It's not a spoiler but she will eventually become the hero Photon. She has similar powers to Captain Marvel with cosmic stuff. You're giving me anxiety with almost skipping intros everytime 😮‍💨 there's not really an intro in the Marvel shows like Daredevil. The only intro is the Marvel intro and it's a capital crime to skip that. YOU LOOK AT TONY 🧐 So you don't need to worry about long intros repeating in the other shows cause none of them are super long like Daredevil is.

panacamanana

Yeah, there are mid credits scenes from here on out. This ep had one, but personally you're not missing much.

Continuing the MCU after this? Love some of the upcoming shows

One little detail I love about this show was beautifully and subtly done in this episode. In Wanda’s Hex, we’ve been in various screen ratios, based on the era we were in. In the 50’s through 80’s, we had the 4:3 ratio of old TVs. For the 2000’s in this episode, in the Hex it was 16:9 for modern HDTVs. But in the “real world”, it’s always been a cinematic widescreen (2.39:1), leaving the “letterbox”, the black bars at the top and bottom of the screen on most HD televisions. In this episode, as Wanda goes down to the basement, the screen starts in the 16:9 ratio…but once she reaches the caves, and walks into the cavern, the screen ratio slowly changes, with the letterboxing coming in…giving this subtle hint that we’re out of Wanda’s control now, and into real life. It’s so completely subtle and yet so very, very effective. That kind of attention to detail and playing with the video standards are just one of many reasons I love this show!

That is completely incorrect. This is still the most original and creative Marvel show still thus far. (though that's not an insult to the other shows, just excellence of writing of this is the most unique and least formulaic). This show as a self contained concept has simply been the most perfectly executed. The tv show themes NOT a joke in ANY way, they are deeply and emotionally connected to the plot and Wanda as a human being. EVERYONE who watches TV feels at least a bit of why she turned her life into a sitcom, some of us a lot. All of us grew up on TV and at one point or another when we were young wished we could trade places with who was on our screens. I feel you must've forgotten. I love Falcon and Winter solider too, but there have been a LOT of shows with similar elements from a lot of films and shows over the years.(Leathal Weapon and 48 hrs being the two primary exampled listed by the show's creators) And take? I'm afraid you're not using that word in the right sense. A take is an opinion of a thing. The word is very overused nowadays, but usually it's used correctly.

I don't know how you missed the end credits scene when so many were reminding you in these comments of them in the last 3 eps from the beginning. Also, I really hope you don't ever skip any intro ever to a Marvel show. Each time you say you're about to do it honestly scares me that both you'll miss something important, and that I'll lose sync between your reaction and the show when I'm not ready.

Lee Aguera we are on opposite sites of the spectrum here! To me, Wandavision is one of the few good things the MCU has produced since Endgame.

vkunia

So I recorded the last few episodes at the same time so I missed all the ones other than episode 9s!!! I watched both of those and due to the comments urging me to watch themm I did on my own time instead! Sorry about that :( but the final ones I did catch :)

Richard Maurer

On this episode maybe, but the end credits of the last 2 episodes are important.

panacamanana

Oh definitely. Sorry I just meant that for accidentally missing a mid credit scene, this is the one that won’t affect much.
