Hi guys!! TIME TO JUMP BACK INTO MIDDLE EARTH... With The Hobbit trilogy!! So this is the first movie of the trilogy - The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. It felt weird not having our usual group be the main characters and to be in a different time in Middle Earth but it's so nice to be back in this universe. I have OPINIONS so wait until the end to hear them!!!! The movie looked like a promising beginning to these films so I'm hopeful!! I know there are strong and differing opinions so no h8 in the comments oki?!

Thank you guys, I hope you'll join me for this new journey and enjoy it just as much. ❤

This trilogy was a bit stretched IMO, but if you like LOTR, you will probably enjoy. I just hope you also watch Spiderman No way home. Even if you are taking a break from MCU, that movie is 100% worth watching.

She's not. She said she's starting Wandavision this month, and she's gotta watch the older Spider-Man movies first, which she said she will also get to eventually.

FatLittleButterfly

remember when Frodo was stabbed and Sam was telling him about Bilbo's trolls in his stories?

You asked why Galadriel calls Gandalf Mithradil: His real name (before he was sent to middle earth) is Olorion. In middle earth he was given many names by different people. Mithrandir by the elves The Grey Pilgrim, Stormcrow, White Rider, Láthspell by the human tribes Gandalf by many others And many more

Great reaction Vee, I loved getting to see more of middle earth with this series, seeing more of Gandalf Elrond and Bilbo is such a joy. I like the songs and riddles too, the only thing that breaks my immersion is the dwarves unbelievable and silly stunts for dine reasons, I can cry when a ghost army comes to the aid of middle earth but not when dwarves are snowboarding down a mountain ravine on a giant wooden platform. Still love the trilogy though lol.

What does your thumbnail mean " PG LOTR"? All of the LOTR are PG-13 so why do you seem confused.

PG LOTR, well yes and no. The violence will ramp up somewhat in the next two films.

hobbit was supposed to be TWO movies. they changed it to three AFTER they finished filming so they did few reshoots still it shows ... none of the movies has an Opening - climax - end ... the end is often a reshoot useless scene just to finish "something" and its so bad ... the cgi isnt that good as well and overused, alot of characters are just useless there and just there cause they are in LOTR ... its so angering cause The Hobbit to this date is my favorite book but the movies have like 80% content thats made up and not from the books and the writers are just way worse then tolkien was

i watched the 1. hobbit movie and it was fine i liked it enough i watched the 2. hobbit movie and to this date its in my worst 5 movies every watched i did not watch the 3. hobbit movie for like 10 years cause of how bad the 2nd was and when i finaly did ... wasnt worth it ... 2 and 3 are rly bad movies, 1 is pretty ok the main problem of 2 isnt even that its a bad story, its a bad moview, it doesnt have a start climax end it makes everything wrong u see they changed 99% after filming was done

Cameron

I really like the first movie. It has many heartfelt moments. I love the Shire and the hobbits so I was really happy it had a bit of a slower start there. Bilbo has a very good arc of becoming an adventurer and gaining the respect of the dwarves. Unfortunately the last 2 movies are terrible. They meander far too long with stuff and characters no one cares about. Like someone else mentioned there was clearly only enough material for 2 movies, but they stretched it into 3 for money.

Kinda weird how some like it and some don't? It's almost like everyone is different in their tastes right?

Jayson Phillips

They tried to make it alot like the cartoon with the singing and all, still liked it, great actors!

2023-01-09 12:53:28 Hello Vee. Well, opinions are different, but I think ours are the same about the movie. I've read the books (Hobbit, LotR) several times and in my opinion 'The Lord of the Ring'-trilogy is a masterpiece, even if they left out Tom Bombadil (a nature spirit older than the first living creatures on Middle Earth itself), simplified much of the story and replaced Glorfindel with Arwen. It works and a movie always has to cut down on some side stories if you have a story like Lord of the Rings. In my opinion they did it perfect and besides I think it's a 12 hour movie in three parts anyway. 😊 Now we have 'The Hobbit', a small book, more for teenagers than young men and of course the story is much too thin for three movies. So, when I heard they are going to make three movies, on the one hand I was excited, on the other hand it was clear for me that they are going to add a lot of stuff which wasn't in The Hobbit. This was the point for me to decide, not to have any expectations, because in that case I simply couldn't be disappointed either and I think yu did the same. Also, I kept in mind, it's Hollywood, so they have to include a love story, several favored characters from LotR and of course some funny action for the younger ones, like Legolas' shield ride in Helms Klamm (even if I don't like such nonsense). But that's no reason for me to condemn the trilogy. In my opinion it just isn't as brilliant as The Lord of the Rings. But my conclusion was that these movies are good and although they added a lot of stuff, I accepted how they made the movies and even if I'm an absolute Middle-Earth nerd with a lot of supplements from the pen&paper RPG based on Tolkien's notes, I like the movies. So of course I'm very excited to watch the other movies with you, Vicky, and I'm really curious if you like them (even more). 😉 Also, I'm curious if you want to watch the series 'Rings of Power' or not. There are a lot of people who don't like it but I don't have much to complain about. Sure, I don't like some scenes the way they were shot - some turned out too long, some too short, and some fights are just too smooth for me. But at this point (episode 6 so far) I think they've done it well, and I can say that as I watch the series now, I haven't once thought about the biggest 'complaint' many people have - the 'colored' Elf - because in my opinion the actor did an amazing job and there is no reason why Elves, Dwarves, Hobbits etc can't have different skin colour, especially when they come from much more southern regions ... ... especially since the whole story itself is simply fantasy. 😊
