The Joker, Wash and Jarvis all go on a journey…

Good choice! I’m glad you watched something light-hearted before going into the upcoming horror films.

He was rude to her after that match because he was extremely frustrated that Adhemar wasn't there so he could defeat him. HE WANTS WITH HIS SOUL to defeat that man. And he has been robbed of that. That's why he was rude to Jocelyn, cause he was just frustrated and didn't want to play "love games" at that moment.

There's nothing from this movie that I don't love. It's balanced with being serious yet not taking itself too seriously. It's the film that introduced me to so many of the Actors in this film. It's so freaking good and I knew you'd enjoy it. Great stuff Vee!

LordGrailKnight

Best Knight movie ever, started my love for the Shining Armor brand long ago when I was but a boy

Also little point: Things seem a bit odd because this movie portrays things as a bit of a translation of the medieval world. For example, Jocelyn is seen as exotic and unique because to William she is outstandingly beautiful, she is designed to stand out. The dance scene is another example, were they really at a disco, no, but to the people dancing that is exactly what it feels like to them. Gives us a clue into the medieval mind.

Well, it is a good movie, but none of my favorites. However it is nice that you watched it and of course I will enjoy it 'with you'. 😉 Have a nice day tomorrow and a lot of fun at the wedding. 😊

"Scoring" the wood caused them to splinter the way the did. Old FX trick that allows the wood to explode with much lighter force. Similar to how glass shatters in movies because it's made with sugar instead of actual glass.

Yes, William was locked into his own frustration and Jocelyn just wanted to flirt. He took out his frustration on the wrong person, true, it also had to do with how this flirting was also a source of frustration in its own right. But ultimately, he was not in the mood to flirt. I would add that, like all 90s and early 2000 films, the actors were much older than the age of the characters they were portraying. With actors closer in age to the characters, it would probably have been easier to see William as a frustrated late teen early 20 something taking it out on someone that didn't deserve it. And Jocelyn too young to fully grasp that as well as not skilled in "reading the room" as it were.

Prizes in tournament were often given in this manner. Something made of pure gold with pieces that can be broken off of the whole and sold individually as needed for smaller denominations of silver and copper, or directly for larger items like armor or weapons. Chaucer wrote "The Canterbury Tales", of which "A Knight's Tale" was one. Even though this is a highly stylized depiction of the 15th Century, one thing it gets spot on right is the power of Prince Edward. "...This is my word, and as such is beyond contestation." Whatever the "truth" is, it doesn't matter from that moment forward. Anyone who disputes the Prince of Wales' word publicly is likely to find themselves short a head quickly. Oh, and check out the end of the credits for an Easter Egg you missed. ;-)

Why does almost nobody know who Chaucer is?

How about 10 things I hate about u.

This is one of my all time favorite movies. Especially as a cheer me up. They used modern music because they wanted the viewer to understand the excitement that went with the sport. Using true to period music would of made for a boring movie

The Dingo

Did you recognize that Paul Bettany, who plays Jeff, also plays Vision?
