Update!

Erin Haury

Sounds great! I'm looking forward to you adding on another show. I haven't started The Mandalorian yet, so I don't want to spoil myself by watching reactions, but I guess I should jump on that, huh? ^^;

David Portnov

Thanks for the update. I do like the video format for these. I don't know if this is the right place to offer up a show suggestion or if you'd prefer that in the show poll thread thing, but I'd really like to see you react to Halt and Catch Fire. It's four seasons with ten episodes each and it's all on Netflix. Hopefully it's not considered too long.

Bob Criswell

Here’s a suggestion for a series that’s definitely not too long. Firefly. It only lasted one season but was so popular after it was canceled that they had to make a movie to wrap things up. One of my all time favorite shows.

Stephen W. Evans

A thought on TV shows: some shows are more episodic than others. I was able to narrow down 3 seasons of Star Trek (Original Series from the 60's) down to 10-12 "must see" episodes for a friend who wanted to experience it, but not watch the whole show. Perhaps some shows can be narrowed down to just 10 "must see" episodes, as voted on by fans on here. This may require someone else to make the polls for you, so you don't have to worry about too many spoilers, but it could be a fun activity for people to get involved with. Obviously, won't work for shows like GoT, 24, Lost, etc, since those shows are continuations of the story and are steeped in too much lore, but it may work with shows that more episodic in nature. Just a thought!!

Thanks for the update and I love the video post instead of the text :)

Firefly and serenity! Reposting comment from yt :)

Adam Grunther

It might be too long since each episode is an hour but I would love to see you react to Doom Patrol.

Jesse Darty

The Maxx was an animated series from the 90s that was shown on MTV about a homeless man who thinks he's a superhero. Its a very dark series but very funny at times but very striking and deep. I think your reaction would be cool and I'm wondering how you take the heavier themes of loss and growing up but mostly figuring out what's real and what's not. I dont know if there's alot of reactions on it but I highly recommend. It looks like a comic book come to life.

Jonathan Blake Fore

Band of Brothers and Pacific will be a good reaction

Sadly Im currently on the watch through right now myself LOL :( im almost done with it

I've seen more and more reactors fall back into the trap of Binge-TV watching (I'm not a binge-fan, as I remember the days when individual TV episodes were fun, self-contained, and not ponderously downbeat so we'd be awed by their CGI budgets)...So I tend to vote for short series. If TV kids today only think TV = “Serial addiction”, I like to go back to the source: Twin Peaks, S1. Only seven episodes (to start with), it's everywhere on streaming, and still blows away most of the current pretenders.

I've seen some reactors do longer shows by doing 3-4 episodes per video Live Action: The Knick (20 episodes) Band of Brothers (10 episodes) Mare of Easttown (7 episodes) Perry Mason (8 episodes) The Expanse (6 seasons, 66 episodes) 24 season 1 (24 episodes) Anime: Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (26 episodes) Aoi Hana (11 episodes) Cross Game (50 episodes, not legally streaming but totally worth it) Full Metal Panic! (24 episodes) Maria Watches Over Us (41 episodes)

I look forward to the variety! Keep up the wonderful work!

Oh, The Expanse for sure ... and the 1 season of Firefly followed by the movie Serenity!

Thanks for the video! You are awesome always.

Matt Gwinn

Firefly followed by Serenity. Hands down. What We Do in the Shadows. You should watch the movie first, but it's not necessary to enjoy the series as it is set in a different country with different characters.

Unlike movies, I couldn’t think of a show I would want a commentary for, and then I remembered the best show ever made, Sopranos. Only problem it’s way too long and episodes are 45 mins. Maybe only one season or random episodes. but if there’s a show to be done w 45 min episodes, sopranos is the best choice, hands down. It would make for great commentary tracks.

Matt

MR ROBOT would be amazing only 45 episodes if you haven't seen it

Charles

I can’t help but feel you would get so much more out of the Mandalorian by watching The Clone Wars and Rebels, but Clone Wars is 8 seasons, Rebels is 3 (I think), BUT they’re half hour episodes instead of 45-60 minutes

Yes, the quick video update is much better than the messaged update. It's clear, it's concise and makes a stronger impression. Great choice!

Mr. Avatar

I agree with others here Firefly is great and it's just one 14 show season with one wrapping up Movie. Also, Rebels is 4 seasons that are 30 minutes and in my opinion better than Clone Wars, at least for me. I simply could not get into Clone Wars as much. As I mentioned in a dm to you Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective agency on Hulu is only 2 seasons and is filled with WTF?!? moments.

A few people not listening to the timing requirements above. I’d love to recommend Farscape, but while it’s only 4 seasons, they’re 22 or so eps long each. Instead, I’m going to second Firefly, and also recommend Good Omens. With only 7 episodes at around 54mins run time, it’s a complete self contained story and absolutely hilarious. Vicky, you’re gonna love it. I’d also suggest “The Witcher” is a good choice with only one season out so far. Edit: ooh I just saw Jesse Darty’s suggestion, and I’ve gotta back that one too. The Maxx would definitely be Vicky’s bag, as would some Aeon Flux and other Adult Swim content. I’m also gonna put it out there, Sealable 2021, the Stimutacs episode.

Alexis

+1 for Firefly - it's a short series (sadly) but great fun. If you do go ahead with it, make sure you watch the episodes in their intended order and not the aired order which was all jumbled up. Also, if you're into British humour (and haven't already seen it) then you may want to give the short series Black Books a go. It's three seasons of 6x 20ish minute episodes and is absolutely hilarious.

True Detective, Season 1: 8 episodes. Streaming on HBO Max. Critically acclaimed and rightfully so. Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey were amazing in this. Despite there being two subsequent seasons of True Detective, it's an anthology series, so Season 2 and 3 don't continue the storyline from Season 1.

My suggestion is going to be Mr.robot. Vigilante hacker, bringing down corporate evil. Really magnetic characters.

Anonymous

Love, Death & Robots is a great show. Short episodes but most are amazing.

Violet Evergarden is a beautiful anime. It's good and filled with many feels to be had. And not to mention it's only 13 episodes long.
