This is honestly my least favorite episode of this show. I just hate that top hat guy so fucking much. He creeps me out and I want NONE of his shit. I also think this episode gave me nightmares when I was younger.

I didn't even remember this episode at all. It does give some insight of Spike's character but I think it's something you kind of understand only in retrospective and not so much in the moment. Definitely an odd one!

Actually found out recently that this episode is a bit of an homage to "Batman the animated series" Parts of the same Sunrise team that worked on Cowboy Bebop were working on Batman at the same time.

that was the same knife that spike got stuck with in their first encounter. So possibly, the guy's own weapons can cross his magnetic force field or whatever.
