SURPRISE!

Since it's December, I just want to do a "Christmas" movie and I heard this movie has a lot of drama surrounding it being a Christmas movie or not so I said why not watch it in spirit of Christmas :). I initially thought I watched this movie as a kid so I thought it wasn't my first time watching BUT IT WAS LMAO I was thinking of a completely different movie. So a "rewatch" turned into a "first time watching"

Okay, I'll stop ranting now. Hope you guys enjoy it and Star Wars: Ep4 will be coming this week. I will be watching the Blu-ray version of it (I wanted to watch the one most accessible to people and I don't have a Disney+ subscription so LOL) so be ready :)

I would say in my opinion Die Hard 2 is more the Christmas movie in the franchise. You really don't even have to question it shows you Christmas trees and a Holiday crowd.

If you're asking if Die Hard 2 is worth it, yes. All three of the old ones are very good. 1&3 would be considered the best of the 5/6? of them that were made, but 2 is very close.

Yes i love Die Hard so much! 2 and 3 are also very cool. 4 is still ok but nothing special... :-)

Fun Die Hard/Rickman trivia: At the end, for Gruber's fall off the building, Rickman had to fall 25 feet backwards onto an airbag. The stunt team told him they would drop him on the count of three. Then, the director had them drop him on the count of one instead. His reaction there is completely genuine, as he wasn't expecting it. It made for a great moment, though supposedly he was... less than pleased. :)

A fantastic movie choice! Not only one of the best Christmas movies out there, but one of THE seminal action movies of it's generation. A true classic ^_^

You cannot go wrong, going down the Die Hard direction. I enjoyed watching this, tremendously.

I have watched this every day since it was released. I intend to watch this with Die Hard every day until Christmas.

Fun fact: they got the shot of the person falling from the tall building by dropping someone off the tall building (onto a huge inflatable mat thing).

Agreed. 'Die Harder' and 'Die Hard with a Vengeance' are fantastic. 'Live Free or Die Hard' was.. okay I suppose? I saw it once, and it was fun and all, but I never considered going back for a rewatch.

Please react to the rest of the series! This was so fantastic! It's a film I love and your reaction with some very on point analysis was such an amplifier to my re-watch enjoyment. The sequels definitely arent as good (or as groundbreaking, but that's no longer noticeable to most - though you did comment on the unusual intellect and cunning of the villian) but there's plenty to enjoy - at least for 2/3/4.
