English version of Nausicaa has Patrick Stewart as one of the VAs...just saying.

Should you go with Nausicaa, I also recommend looking up its manga version. The movie was a prototype of sorts for the manga (Miyazaki finished it after the film version was released and thus critiqued), so the thematic and philosophical elements of the movie are more thoroghly explored. The manga is also about three times the length of the movie, story-wise, so you'll definitely be in for an epic ride.

Oh, and I don't think Mononoke's Patreon version is up in the site yet?? Though I guess that may be upload speed issues

I'd recommend Your Name, it's an amazing movie. And even though it's not on here, released in the same year, I'd go for A Silent Voice.

I've heard a lot of recommendations for a A Silent Voice as well - I'm entirely unfamiliar so I'd have to check it out :) Thank you for the recommendation Craig!! ๐Ÿค—

I've seen some people recommending films such as "Your Name" directed by Makoto Shinkai; I would recommend starting with his first film (depending on what you count): "Voices of a Distant Star" (ๆ˜Ÿใฎๅฃฐ), which is only about 20 minutes long. If you want to hit only one other before "Your Name", I would recommend "5 cm per Second".

Makoto Shinkai and Mamoru Hosada make some great films. I think Weathering with you did sort of suffer from the hype of Your Name despite the fact it was still a great movie.
