Firebenders use their chi to basically heat the air around them, that's how they create their fire! Another reason among the plethora of reasons the movie sucks, they changed it to where it was like all the other elements, needing to already have fire around to bend it. Also bending comes to aang so naturally not because he's an airbender, but because he's the avatar

If everything else didn't suck I actually think that would have been a cool liberty to change, that way fire benders could only bend with one of three ways if they had fire present, the comet was in the sky, or a third way we won't discuss till later in the show. Making fire bending without fire present a powerful and rare quality. IDK I just think that would be a cool concept if done right, but the rest of the movie is garbage and made that an unusable concept in the future. lolol

The Cabbage Man is back! We love the Cabbage Man. Also I’ve never actually thought about what you mentioned, that fire is the only bending that isn’t using materials around you. That’s so interesting to think about. I can’t honestly remember if that’s ever discussed on the show or not so it’ll be fun to see together if it ever happens! And yes, Momo and Uncle Iroh—my two favorite characters haha. You can’t not love them!
